ratedependent.Oneparticleparameter,theYieldStress,inthematerialcardcanappearinmorethanoneplace
andcanbesometimesconfusingtoknowwhichvalueisusedbyLSDYNA.Hereisthehieararchyofthefinal
valueoftheYieldStressusedinLSDYNA.

YieldStressCalculation
1.IfLCSSisnonzero,theinitialandevolvingyieldstressisalwaystakenfromeithertheCurveofTablethat
LCSSrefersto.
2.IfLCSSiszeroANDEPSESSisdefined,thentheinitialandevolvingyieldstressisdeterminedbyESS
3.IfLCSSiszero,EPSESSiszero,thentheyieldstressisobtainedfromSIGYparameter.

StrainrateDependency
In*MAT_024,therearethreewaystodefinestrainratedependency.Itshieararchyisdefinedbelow.
1.IfLCSSreferstoatable,thenthestrainratedependencyisalwayscomputedfromthetable.
2.IfLCSSiseitheraCurveoriszeroANDLCSRisnonzero,thenLCSRisused
3.IfLCSSiseitheraCurveoriszeroANDLCSRiszeroandC&Pisnonzero,thenCowperSymondsis
used.

WhenusingCowperSymondsmethodforstrainratedependencyandViscoplasticity(VP)isturnedon(equalto
1),SIGY,playsanimportantroleinhowthedynamicyieldstressisdetermined.WhenVP=1,thestrainrate
