Prayers of the Faithful:

Leader: God the Almighty Father stretches forth His hand again to take possession of
the remnant of His people. Let us make our prayer to Him: Let our response be:

1. Lord, grant that our works of penance may please You, and that we may be
ready for your kingdom which is so near. Let us pray to the Lord
2. Prepare a path in our hearts for the coming of Your word, and let His glory be
revealed among us. Let us pray to the Lord
3. Bring low the mountains of our pride, and fill up the valleys of our weakness.
Let us pray to the Lord
4. Break down the wall of hatred that divide the nations, and make level for mankind
the paths to peace. Let us pray to the Lord
5. We also pray Lord for all those who are sick and suffering, may you grant them
strong faith, courage and healing. Let us pray to the Lord

Leader: Together let us glorify God, who comes to us this day and in all the days of our
Lives in praying the prayer our Lord Jesus Christ taught us

All: Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the
beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen
Closing Prayer:

Loving God,
I sense that all is your creation
and everything, and all of us,
are being drawn back toward your loving heart.

Help us to be a person of peace,

To speak about it in an uneasy world,
And to live it among the people
you have put into our life every day.

Light in us a desire to prepare for your coming

to stand in the darkness, waiting, eager and filled with joy.
We ask this through Christ our Lord

Prayer for the Preservation of the Family by Pope John Paul II

Lord God, from You, every family in heaven and on earth, takes its
name. Father, you are love and life. Through Your Son, Jesus Christ, born
of a woman and through the Holy Spirit, fountains of divine charity, grant
that every family on earth may become for each successive generation, a
true sign of life and love. Grant that Your grace may guide the thoughts
and actions of husbands and wives for the good of their families and of all
families in the world.

Grant that the young may find in the family solid support of their
human dignity and support for their growth in truth and love.

Grant that the love strengthened by the grace of the sacrament of

marriage may prove mightier than all weaknesses and trials, through
which all families may sometime pass.

Through the intercession of the Holy Family of Nazareth, grant that the
Church may faithfully carry out her worldwide mission in the family and
through the family. We ask this of You, who are Life, Truth and Love, with
the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

May the Lord our light and life bless us and be always in our lives now and

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
