Superheroes and Power!

Who likes super heroes? Who is your favorite super hero and what is your favorite super power?

Did you know super heroes actually exist? And super powers do to?

The only difference is in real life the super powers come from the holy ghost... We call them
the gifts of the spirit. When you get the holy ghost God gives you his superpowers to use.

All the power comes from the holy ghost

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you...

Acts 1:8 NIV

Samson went down to Timnah together with his father and mother. As they
approached the vineyards of Timnah, suddenly a young lion came roaring toward
him. The Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon him so that he tore the lion apart
with his bare hands.

Judges 14:5-6 NIV

As Samson arrived at Lehi, the Philistines came shouting in triumph. But the Spirit
of the Lord came powerfully upon Samson, and he snapped the ropes on his arms
as if they were twigs and they fell from his wrists. Then he found the jawbone of a
recently killed donkey. He picked it up and killed 1,000 bad guys with it.

Judges 15:14-15 NLT

But Samson stayed in bed only until midnight. Then he got up, took hold of the
doors of the town gate, including the two posts, and lifted them up, bar and all. He
put them on his shoulders and carried them all the way to the top of the hill across
from Hebron.

Judges 16:3 NLT

Samson was also captured by bad guys and they were making fun of him and hurt
his eyes and beet him up. He was in a stadium just like a football stadium but it
was full of a bad guys. So he prayed to God and asked him to strengthen him one
last time and he put one had on a sorry break and the other hand on another one
and with all his might pushed and he destroyed the entire stadium with all the bad
guys in it.
 Elijha called fire from the sky and it fall on an army of bad guys.

Then the Lord gave special strength to Elijah. He tucked his cloak into his belt and
ran ahead of Ahabs chariot all the way to the entrance of Jezreel.

1 Kings 18:46 NLT

A man who named Smith wiggles worth who had the holy ghost would pray and
dead people would come back to life.

When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip
away, and the eunuch did not see him again, but went on his way rejoicing. Philip,
however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the
towns until he reached Caesarea.

Real life frozen powers

When King Jeroboam heard the man of God speaking against the altar at Bethel, he
pointed at him and shouted, Seize that man! But instantly the kings hand
became paralyzed in that position, and he couldnt pull it back. Theking cried out to
the man of God, Please ask the Lord your God to restore my hand again! So the
man of God prayed to the Lord , and the kings hand was restored and he could
move it again.

1 Kings 13:4, 6 NLT

A man came to this church once and prayed for a woman who had a broken hand
and it was fixed.

I have the holy ghost and prayed for a man who was very very sick, had the flu
and couldn't sleep. He became better and wasn't sick any more.

Communion with God

The holy ghost helps

o people'sparents not be mad anymore,

o ithelps people's parents who yell a lot not yell as much any more.

o People be really happy

o People get along

 When you have the holy ghost you can talk to God and he will talk back.

Who had ever received a gift from their parents for Christmas or your birthday?

The holy ghost is a free gift that God wants to give to everyone.

REPENTANCE

We are going to ask God to forgive us for everything bad we did.

We are now going to ask God to give us the holy ghost.... Worship and tell him he is
the best and we want him in our life.

Peter replied, Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for
the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:38 NIV

This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the
Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a
convert to Judaism.

How are some full??
We all get the same holy ghost.... But the holy ghost has more control and residence with
sooner people then others
The holy ghost manifests greater some then others.
