AND CONDITIONS FOR VOS | MTV BORN BACKSTAGE COMPETITION 2016

1. This competition will be governed by these terms and conditions (the Terms) and
entrants
agree that they have read and understood these Terms and will be bound by them.
2. Entrants may enter the competition by answering the question online at URL
[http://uk.mtvema.com/win/evos/uhr1ir] in forty (40) words or less (Entry Content) and
completing the competition entry form provided.
3. Costs to enter the competition via the Internet may vary so please check with your
service provider for current charges. Entrants should seek the permission of the person
paying the bill before entering.
4. The closing time and date for entries is 12:00 GMT on 24 October 2016.
5. This competition is open to residents, aged 18 and over, of the following listed countries
only: Austria; Belgium; Denmark; Finland; Germany; Republic of Ireland; the Netherlands;
Poland; Portugal; Romania; Spain; Sweden; Switzerland and the UK excluding
employees and immediate relatives of employees of Viacom Velocity International (the
Promoter) vos Sound Limited and/or of MTV Networks Europe and/or of Kru Live
Limited or their respective parents, subsidiaries or affiliated companies or any other
person professionally connected with this competition.
6. One (1) entry per person. Multiple entries will be void and the entrant may be disqualified.
7. All entries must include name, age, address, (including postcode), email address,
telephone
number of entrant and answer to the question.
8. All entrants shall be responsible for ensuring that their entry and/or acceptance of the
prize(s) does not contravene any local laws or regulations in the country in which they are
resident. This competition shall be void where prohibited or restricted by law.
9. Three (3) winners will be selected by a judging panel, including judges from the Promoter
and one (1) independent judge, from all valid entries containing the Entry Content and
which are received on or before the closing date. The winning entries will be those that
the judging panel determine are the most original and creative answer to the question.
10. The winners will be selected on 25 October 2016.
11. Each winner shall receive the following, for use by the winner and a guest of their choice:
o 2 economy class return air travel tickets to Rotterdam or Amsterdam Airport
from the closest international airport to the winners home address which
operates direct flights to Rotterdam Airport; and
o 2 nights (5 and 6 November 2016) twin room accommodation in a hotel with a
3 star rating in Rotterdam, on a bed and breakfast basis; and
o Return airport transfers between Rotterdam Airport and the hotel, including a
Dutch speaking chaperone; and
o 2 VIP tickets to the 2016 MTV EMA on 6 November 201
o 2 VIP tickets to the 2016 MTV EMA official after party; and
o Use of the Dutch speaking chaperone, not to exceed 12 hours per day during
the
prize period; and
o In addition, the winners together will receive transport to the MTV EMA 2016
from the
hotel, accompanied by a Dutch speaking chaperone per pair of winners.

The approximate value of the Prize is two thousand pounds sterling (2,000) depending on where
the winner is resident.
EACH WINNERS GUEST MUST ALSO BE AGED 18 OR OVER.
ANY WINNER (AND ANY GUEST) MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR TRAVEL ON 5 NOVEMBER
2016 TO 7 NOVEMBER 2016. NO ALTERNATIVE DATE(S) WILL BE AVAILABLE.
EACH WINNER (AND ANY GUEST) MUST HOLD A VALID PASSPORT FOR TRAVEL AND
ANY OTHER NECESSARY TRAVEL DOCUMENTATION (E.G., VISA).
12. For the avoidance of doubt, the Prize(s) will not consist of anything other than expressly
set out in Term 11 above and no additional costs are included.
13. All entrants confirm that the Entry Content does not include any copyright work unless the
entrant has obtained the consent of the relevant owner of any copyright work and such
owner has consented to the relevant copyright being used in the Entry Content in
accordance with these Terms.
14. The winners may be required to provide a written acknowledgement of acceptance of all
the Terms of the competition prior to receiving their Prize.
15. A winner of any Prize is responsible for all applicable taxes and expenses not specified in
the Prize description.
16. A winner will be notified by telephone or email within thirty six (36) hours of being
selected as a winner. The Prize shall be directly arranged with each winner, the Promoter
and Kru Live Limited.
17. In the event that the Promoter cannot for any reason contact the Prize winner within forty
eight (48) hours of first attempting to do so, the Promoter reserves the right to select
another winner on the same basis as used to select the original winner.
18. The Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative winner in the event that the
Promoter has reasonable grounds for believing that any selected winner has contravened
any of these Terms.
19. The Promoter reserves the right to terminate the competition and withhold the Prize(s) in
the event that, in the Promoter's reasonable opinion, there are insufficient entries or the
entries received are of insufficient quality for the Promoter to be able to select a winner.
The Promoters decision is final with respect to any aspect of the competition, including
the determination of any winner of a Prize. No correspondence will be entered into.
20. By entering this competition, all entrants hereby grant to the Promoter and its respective
parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies and licensees a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-
free, irrevocable, non-exclusive licence to use, reproduce, copy, adapt, transmit,
broadcast, publish or delete any information or other material including without limitation,
the entrants name, entry, Entry Content, photograph, likeness, biographical information,
voice, text, images, designs, audio and/or video clips submitted in entering or any
statement made by them concerning the competition (Submissions) by any means and
in any and all media as they, in their discretion, see fit. For the avoidance of doubt (but
without limitation) this will include the winners name, location, and Entry Content being
broadcast on-air and posted across the Promoters social media platforms.
21. By entering this competition, all entrants hereby grant the Promoter the exclusive right to
film, tape, sound record and photograph all their activities in connection with the
competition and the Prize. Everything filmed, taped or recorded by the Promoter shall be
known as Footage. All Footage shall be owned by the Promoter and all entrants agree
that the Promoter can use any Footage in any and all media in perpetuity throughout the
world as the Promoter in its sole discretion sees fit.

22. All entrants hereby irrevocably and unconditionally assign to the Promoter with full title
guarantee (and by way of present assignment of present and future rights) all intellectual
property rights in any Footage throughout the world for the full unexpired period of such
rights and all renewals, reversions and extensions of such period as may be provided
under any applicable law throughout the world.
23. All entrants hereby irrevocably and unconditionally waive in favour of the Promoter, the
Promoters affiliates and their licensees, assigns and successors in title, all moral rights in
any Submissions and/or Footage to which he or she is, or may at any time in the future
be, entitled.
24. Entrants acknowledge that they may be required to be used in publicity without further
consent or payment if they are selected as a winner.
25. All entrants hereby undertake that nothing in the Entry Content:
 1. a) is defamatory;
2. b) is sexually explicit or suggestive, contains nudity or any dangerous activity or
is profane, pornographic or violent;
3. c) is derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group
or endorses any form of hate or hate group;
4. d) promotes any particular political agenda or message;
5. e) reveals any personal information, including but not limited to license plate
numbers,
personal names, email addresses or street addresses; or
6. f) is otherwise offensive or illegal.
26. Decisions as to whether Entry Content infringes these Terms in any way shall be made at
the sole discretion of the Promoter. Submissions that do not comply in all material
respects within the Terms shall be disqualified.
27. The Promoter can accept no responsibility for entries lost, delayed, misdirected,
damaged or undelivered. Incomplete, inaudible and/or illegible entries will be disqualified.
The Promoter shall not be responsible for technical errors in telecommunications
networks, internet access or otherwise preventing entry to any competition.
28. Prizes are as stated and are non-transferable. No cash alternatives will be offered. If due
to circumstances beyond the Promoters control the Promoter is unable to provide a
stated Prize or any part of it, the Promoter reserves the right to award a substitute Prize
of equal or greater value. Prizes are subject to any additional terms and conditions of the
manufacturer, supplier or venue (as relevant).
29. The Promoter shall not be liable for any delay in performing or partial or total failure to
perform any of its obligations to a winner and/or parents/legal guardians under these
Terms if such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control
including without limitation delays, changes, disruptions, cancellations, diversions or
substitutions howsoever caused including without limitation as a result of war, terrorist
action or threatened terrorist action, strikes, hostilities, civil commotions, accidents, fire,
flood or natural catastrophes or arising without limitation out of or in connection with (i)
the activities of third party event organisers; (ii) any form of transportation (including but
not limited to flights, trains, coaches, buses, ferries, taxis or cars); and/or (iii) by third
parties providing accommodation included in the Prize. For the avoidance of doubt, the
affected winner and/or parents/legal guardians shall be solely liable for any additional
costs incurred as a result.
30. Nothing in these Terms shall limit the Promoters liability for death or personal injury
caused by negligence of the Promoter and/or deceit or fraud by Promoter.
31. Each provision excluding or limiting liability is to be construed separately and will apply
and survive even if for any reason any of the other provisions are held to be inapplicable
or unenforceable in any circumstances. Each of the provisions excluding or limiting
liability will remain in force notwithstanding any termination of these Terms.

32. The name of any winner can be obtained by sending a stamped, self-addressed
envelope to Viacom Velocity International, vos | MTV Born Backstage Competition
2016, 17 29 Hawley Crescent, London, NW1 8TT (specifying the name of the
competition), for one (1) month after the competition closes.
33. Unless entrants opt in to receive further marketing at the time of entry, any personal
information, including without limitation, the entrant's name, age, address (including
postcode), telephone number and/or email address will be used solely in connection with
this competition and as set out in these Terms and will not be disclosed to any third party,
except for the purpose of fulfilling a Prize where applicable. Any personal information
held by the Promoter in respect of any competition will be held on record for a short
period for the purpose of ensuring fulfilment of the competition and then destroyed.
34. BY ENTERING THIS COMPETITION YOU AGREE THAT YOUR PERSONAL
INFORMATION MAY BE TRANSFERRED OUTSIDE OF EUROPE, TO THE UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA.
 35. Only entries from individuals will be accepted. Any entries that the Promoter believes
have (a) been made via participation in a syndicate or (b) via any means or form of
machine-assisted intervention enabling computer (or software or program) generated
multiple entries will be disqualified. The Promoter reserves the right to discount multiple
entries from the same IP address.
36. These Terms may be amended or varied at any time by the Promoter on notice. No
waiver of any rights by the Promoter or any entrant will be taken as a waiver of any other
rights it may have. For example, if the Promoter waives its right to complain about a
particular breach of these Terms by an entrant, it does not prevent the Promoter from
complaining about other breaches.
37. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England
and Wales.

KEY TERMS
1. The competition is open to entrants aged 18 and over who are resident in the countries
listed in the Terms and Conditions.
2. Internet access required. No purchase necessary.

3. The competition closes at 1200 hrs (GMT) on Monday 24 October 2016.
4. 3 winners will be selected from all entries received.
5. The winner will be responsible for all applicable taxes.
6. The winner and his/her guest must all be aged 18 and over, hold valid passports for
travel and be responsible for any visas necessary for travel to the Netherlands.

7. The winner and his/her guest must be available for travel to the Netherlands on either 5

or 6th November 2016 with return on the 7 November 2016. No alternative dates are
available.
