Topic: Listening Skills - Festivals

Goal: teaching grammar and vocabulary through a listening task


Aims:
1. To apply skills and strategies of successful listeners by predicting parts of speech that are missing in a gapped text.
2. To familiarize themselves with the listening test for foundations by practicing note-taking
3. To develop vocabulary by making use of context clues as well as identifying previously learned vocabulary

Listening 1. Pair work: students work in pairs. They log into a concept mapping website

1. Students are given a worksheet with questions available. They are asked to different ones on the
skim and scan the paper and predict answers. This is done as a whole-class same topic of festivals)

2. Whole-class activity: teacher tells the students they will play a game: the Note-taking
teacher will play the recording. When the students hear the answer they think worksheets for group
is correct, they need to raise their hands. The teacher will count group points work
for the group that raises their hand exactly when they hear the answer.
3. Independent Practice/Assessment: This time the teacher gives them a new Note-taking
