It is my pleasure to be writing you on behalf of Abraham Santana. I have known
and coached Abraham since he was about 10 years old, and have had Abraham in
my Honors Marine Biology class this year. He has also been an integral part of our
water polo and swim teams here at Merced High for the last 4 years. He is a
disciplined, punctual, and hardworking student. He also participates and interacts
well with his peers both in and out of the classroom. He is an individual of high
integrity and work ethic. Though classes like my Honors Marine Biology are
challenging, he has chosen the challenge and then has followed up with whatever
is needed to make sure he succeeds. During his athletic tenure he has been a team
captain a couple of times, leading by example on a daily basis. Abraham is
consistently punctual, responsible, hardworking, disciplined, and fun loving. He
brings a spirit of commitment, combined with a feeling of camaraderie and
enjoyment, to work outs every day. Abraham was a First Team All-Conference
selection, First Team All Section selection, and team and league MVP this fall on
the water polo team. He has been a multiple time team MVP and a league
champion in swimming also, and will undoubtedly exceed his performances this
spring in his final season. Aquatic teams work out from 6-7:15 am and 2:15-4:15
pm daily, and Abraham is consistently there performing at a high level. Everything
that he has achieved is well deserved, and just the beginning of things to come.
Abraham demonstrates a great maturity with his decision-making, his focus and
goal setting, and his interactions with others.
I believe Abraham will excel in college and future work environments because of
his fantastic discipline, his open perspective, his family support, and his
perpetually positive attitude. He works very well within a structured environment,
being able to be both a leader and a team player whenever each is required. I will
miss him when he leaves, but know he will continue to contribute and grow
elsewhere. Thank you for your time and consideration of this truly exceptional
