Hi! My name is Elizabeth Lim. I am 14 years old. I am an optimistic and

To keep fit I swim and play badminton. I go swimming once a week with
my friends, Anisa and Devi. We go to a swimming pool near my house. I play
badminton almost every day with my younger sister, Mandy.

Question 4

Read the article on ways of preparing for guests who are staying over at your home.

When you have friends or relatives coming to stay over at your home, you should go
the extra mile to make their stay as comfortable as possible. You should make sure
your guest room have certain basic essentials such as fresh sheets and blankets on the
beds, curtains on the windows, working lights, a fan, a clock, a wastebasket, an extra
blanket and a cleared shelf or drawer.
A few days before your guests arrive, ask them their food preferences and
allergies. This will give you time to prepare what food to cook or buy for them.
However do not go and buy unusual ingredients that you would not normally buy.
You should also let your guests know ahead what activities you have planned. This is
so that they can pack appropriately. You should also ask them if there is anything
they would like to do or see while they are in town.
If your guests are driving, try to save a good parking spot for them. Dont
make your guests waste their time looking for a parking spot. When your guests first
arrive, offer them snacks and a beverage. Then show them to the guest room. You
should help carry their bags and also point out where everything in the guestroom is.
You can also make your guests feel like a part of the household. They can
help to wash and chop the vegetables. However, do not ask them to take out the trash
or scrub greasy pans. Finally be nice to your guests and do not argue with your
family members in front of your guests. It will make them feel awkward. Just follow
these simple tips and without a doubt, your guests will enjoy their stay.

My family spring cleaned our home last Sunday. After our usual breakfast, father assigned
each one their chores. My two siblings and I had to wash the car. Mother and my older
sister had to clean the garden and my grandfather was to tidy up the lawn. Bath our pet
dog, Brownie, was my fathers responsibility grandmother was in charge of preparing tea
for everyone.
My siblings and I had a lot of fun washing the car. As we were washing it, we aimed
the hose at each other. We were wet and had soap all over our body. My younger brother
saw us having fun and so he decided to join us. He took his water gun and started shooting
at us.
My father also had his share of fun. Brownie hated taking baths. He tried to avoid
being splashed with water. He ran around and shake his wet body until father was wet from
head to toe.
My mother and older sister did not have such interesting time removing weeds from
the pots of flowers and plants. Grandfather trimmed the grass and raked up the dried leaves
from the garden. When we had completed all our different chores, grandmother rewarded
us with a glass of cool glass of lemonade each.

BLACK BEAUTY BOOK REVIEW
The title of the book is Black Beauty and it is written by Anna Sewell. The story is about
animals. The story is set in England during the nineteenth century. The story is about a
black horse named Black Beauty. He is a beautiful stallion and was well trained by his
mother, Duchess, a sweet tempered horse of good breeding. He also meets some new
friends such as Merrylegs and Ginger. Black Beauty goes through a series of owners.
Some of them are kind and some are cruel. He begins his new life on Birtwick Park ,
followed by a short stay at Earshall Park. After a horrible accident, he ends up pulling
cabs and doing odd jobs in London. He finally finds a happy retirement as a carriage horse
for three ladies. In my opinion, this story is very interesting because I can experience a
horses world of joy, sorrow and pain, therefore, I will be more aware of how I treats
animals.
