Reflection Multi Genre

My audience is more directed at the parents whose kids are on their phones to long or

rely on their phones to much. The audience can also be toward kids or teens who know they are

on their phones to long and want to fix it. My question is How do cell phones affect youth. I

used quite a few articles for this the Generation Tech: The Good, Bad, and Scary was good as

it listed a lot of the pros and cons with technology. One thing the author said was for healthy

development to occur, children must experience real-life peer friendships and positive

relationships with adults. When kids are on their phones too much this becomes a problem for

their health. Fox43 spoke with parents how said that they are concerned their kids aren't

learning basic life skills, since these days, their devices do just about everything for them. Other

articles talk about cell phones being more of a safety tool. Now the real question is are

cellphones as bad as they are made out to be by the older generation? No, they are not as they

can be a great and useful learning tool, a nice way to alleviate boredom, it can help keep you safe

and raise the tension that your mom has letting you go out at night. It can be used when a person

is not supposed to like school or church but these things can be avoided by having respect for

others and yourself.

One of the genre pieces I made was a brochure to inform adults, but children to can learn

from this, about the pros and cons of cellphones. The argument is, are cellphones good or bad for
youth. The answer is yes and no they can be good or bad depending on the kid using it. If a kid

only uses it when necessary and makes sure not to use in places that should be void of phones

that all is good. However, if a kid is addicted to it lots of problems can occur. The resources I

used where just the picture. Most of the writing is just what I pieced together from doing the

Annotated Bibliography. I choose a brochure because I feel it fits my topic rather well.

The other genre piece I created was a list to help parents monitor and help kids who use

cellphones too much. In turn this can alleviate the issues caused by cell phones. I choose these to

genre pieces as I believe they are the best ways to inform others of a problem as well as provide

insight and solutions to a problem. The brochure allows people to see the benefits to a cellphone

as well as the issues caused by a cellphone. My first genre piece relies heavily on visual aspects

as it has popping colors and decent pictures. My second one relies on parents wanting to help the

cellphone problem. I believe both genre pieces can be effective at reaching the target audience

especially the first one because of and quick and simple it is.
