My name is Wenceslao Lacaze and I’ve been working as a SAP
basis Administrator and Solution Manager Consultant for the last 8
years.
I’m a Techno-Functional SAP Solution Manager Subject Matter
Expert (SME), I Design, Build and Implement the product using “Run
Sap” Methodology.
I have developed a very extended experience with medium and
large scaled SAP installations in several (multi)national
environments.

E2E Trace Analysis

This tool allow us to trace all the internal steps during the web transaction, Is
useful to understand what happen inside the Java environment during the task.

Activate the Trace Functionality

Enable All

Install and run the Plug-in

Download the HTTP Plug-in program attached in the note 1041556 from Sap
Marketplace at
http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1041556
Unzip and run the SAPIEPlugin.exe in your computer.
Windows open 2 windows, one browser IExplorer windows and another “Sap Http
Plug-in” window. Complete with the SMD Information (Host and Port) in HTTPPlugin
Window.

Complete with the information and press “Start Transaction”

Now you can see the HttpPlugin is Recording and you see a new value in Send
Bytes/Received Bytes and Request/Response”

Click in New Step, write a new Step name and logon to the System

When the system ends the load, create a new step and continue with your session

When you end the task click in Stop transaction

Collect the Information

Logon to Solution Manager..

Select the Icon New to “Upload Business transaction.xml”..You can found the
TraceXML in the Logs Directory inside the SAPHTTPPlugin tool..

Now you can see the Session inside the TraceTool, Select the Session..

Confirm the Dialog to allow SMD collect the Server-side trace data.

Wait until the collection ends.

If SMD have error collection the trace data you can still process the information.

Analyse the Trace Information

You found 2 Main Information, The Http Analysis and the Server Analysis.
If you want to analysis the traces, select the Business Transactions and the
Transaction Steps and Click in Display…

Summary
This screen have the information related to all the timing process for this single
step.

J2EE SQL Information

If You click in the Database icon you can see the J2EE SQL trace.

In the Detail you can see the SQL Statement and the perform time.

If you click in the Details Tab you can see the entire SQL Trace on managed
system.
