with Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Read the questions below and write your answers


1. What is the school policy for inclusion for SEN students in the
school?
First the school asks parents to bring psychology reports from the doctor.
After that the school test the child (IQ), and they focus on the child
communication skills and learning difficulties he have so they can decide if
he is able to join the school. After they decide, they create a curriculum plan
for the student, include the modifications and accommodations that are
needed.

2. Was there any assistive technology, other equipment or materials


used with the identified SEN students? If yes, please describe the
equipment that was used and what it was used for.

Yes, such as smart board and iPad. Teachers use smart board to show
pictures of animals for example, if the teacher said G for giraffe, SEN
students have some difficulties to remember what a giraffe is so by
showing them a picture on the board will make it easier to remember and
link the picture with the letter. Also the use flashcards.

3. What teaching strategies did your MST use with the identified
SEN students?
Positive reinforcement like stars chart. And try to let them join group
activities and let them be leaders to increase their confident. She set with
them separately to give them more explanations.
4. Where there any other school staff that worked with the identified
SEN students? If yes, please explain their role and what they did
with the identified SEN student.

Social worker, special need teacher, nurse, classroom teacher.

5. Do you think that SEN students should be included in the


classroom or taught in class specifically for SEN students? Why /
Why not?

Yes, I think SEN students should be included in the classroom, because


Students who have difficulty learning always present a challenge. When
SEN students involve in regular classroom it gives them the support they
need and allows them to stay in the least restrictive environment .
