2- Describe the purpose of diagnostic assessment.

My school didnt have any diagnostic tests, but rather just average school work to check

on their levels and if they learned the lesson.

3- Classroom Management

1. Describe two times when your classroom management was successful. Describe the

situation, learning objective and what the students were doing. Why was your

management successful?

- Whilst students were playing around during center time, I stood up and informed

them that there were 5 minutes left till clean up time. After the 5 minutes, I started

the 2-3-2-3 clap pattern which the students recognized as the clean-up signal, I said

Time to clean up KG1!! The students cleaned up and then I asked them to gather up
at the carpet for the closure. The learning objectives were to have the students clean

up after themselves, and learn to limit their time and work. The students were

familiar with this routine which is why I believe it was successful.

- I used BF Skinners reinforcement during a lesson and I believed that it worked

wonderfully in my favor, it is the perfect classroom management strategy for KG1

students. I had informed the students, that those who listen well and answer questions

get stickers by the end of the day, and those who dont, wont receive stickers. The

learning objective was to have students listen and wait patiently till the end of the day,

I wanted to see how long they could manage to listen and respond which I was quite

surprised by as the students were so enthusiastic to participate. I believe it was

successful because students enjoy being praised, which I did constantly, and love

getting stickers.

2. Describe something you would like to improve about your classroom management (using

routines, giving instructions, dealing with disruptive behavior, managing groups,) Give

suggestions (or talk to your MST or MCT) to improve your classroom management.
- I would like to have a more individual 1 on 1 learning atmosphere as I believe that the

students like Montessori classrooms are better working alone when gaining

information, however I also would have a few small group activities.
