Growing up on a farm it was about responsibility and hard work: there was always chores,
pigs to muck out, milking cows, baling, stone picking, picking weeds. But it was also about mak-
ing your own fun! Seeing Craig Gugin being dragged across the field by a lassoed calf was hilari-
ous! It was horse back riding with the Jurys, or hunting and camping in the bush with the Delma-
ges and having your father, Alex sneaking up and howling like a wolf in the bush, just to scare you
and add to your camping experience! Apparently it was also great fun to sneak up on Aunt Doris

operation completely. He continued working many winters in Winnipeg and was grateful for the
much nicer basement provided by his brother Barry and wife Anne. Being ever the good provider,
Murray was grateful for work at Husky Energy until August of 2015. Again many friends were
made.
He was a man who loved company!! He loved his friends and valued his neighbours and
enjoyed their visits. Of course he would often say, Youve come just in time. I have a little job
for you! He never missed an opportunity. Before you knew it you were driving a combine or
hauling grain, shoveling grain, chasing a cow, or tearing down fence posts, insulating a barn for
the horses and cows (thank you Rod) or making a door for the barn (Mike S). Or moving grain

He was proud of his farm! He so enjoyed the Century farm designation received in 2012 from

He made time for people. His father in-law Galvin Burton enjoyed combining with his Dad
Alex and Malcolm Macdonald and Ray Woodcock. He made time for coffee for his brother in law
Blaine. To honour his Dads war service he joined the Minnedosa Legion earning his 40 year pin.
He loved it when brother Barry and his family came home! He enjoyed the reconnecting. He
loved hunting with his brother Lloyd and enjoyed the times when Lloyd helped him combine.
And his sister Margaret he had such a soft spot in his heart for you. He took pride in being
your big brother. He was a favourite Uncle and he cared for each and every one of his nieces and
nephews on both sides of the family.
Murray married Brenda (Burton/Branston) on December 28th, 1992 in the Minnedosa

Murray had his children, later in life (age 38) and loved them all equally. He was so very
