Affidavit of Lost

I, AURELIO V. BATANGAN, SR., Filipino, of legal age, married to Marina B. Batangan, and
a resident of Brgy. No. 10 Naiporita, Sarrat Ilocos Norte, Philippines, after being duly sworn in
accordance with law, depose and state:
1. That I am the legal heir through succession of the late Perfecta Batangan the declared
and registered owner of a parcel of land designated as Lot No. 20261 and 20352
situated at Brgy. 22, San Guillermo, San Nicolas Ilocos Norte bearing OCT No. 276266.
2. That during the time Perfecta Batangan while still living, she customarily secured
documents inside a purported hollow bamboo with cover and put in a wooden
casement at the ground floor of our old house made of bamboo;
3. That certain time in the year 1967 years after the death of Perfecta Batangan,
torrential rain happened to our place and inundated with cascading loam soil from
the nearby mountain side of our house, the lower portion of our residence and most
part of our barangays;
4. That during that rushing flashflood most of our belongings at the ground floor of our
house were taken away by the rushing water with loam soil;
5. That one of the things taken away by the flood was that of the wooden casement
wherein the hollow bamboo that contain said title has been washout;
6. That despite diligent search and efforts to locate the wooden casement more
particularly the hollow bamboo that contains important document including the said
land certificate of title, we could not find the same such that I now believe that it is
now lost beyond recovery;
7. As such, I am executing this Affidavit of Lost to attest to the truth of the foregoing
and for whatever legal purposes that this may serve.
