TASK 36-11-53-720-802-A
Functional Test of the Overpressure Valve with the Bleed Test Set P/N 98D36109001000
WARNING: YOU MUST BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU DO WORK ON THE ENGINE PARTS AFTER THE EN-
GINE IS SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE PARTS CAN STAY HOT FOR ALMOST 1 HOUR.
WARNING: YOU MUST NOT TOUCH HOT PARTS WITHOUT APPLICABLE GLOVES. HOT PARTS CAN
CAUSE AN INJURY. IF YOU GET AN INJURY PUT IT IN COLD WATER FOR 10 MINUTES AND
GET MEDICAL AID.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE SAFETY DEVICES AND THE WARNING NOTICES ARE IN POSITION
BEFORE YOU START A TASK ON OR NEAR:
- THE FLIGHT CONTROLS
- THE FLIGHT CONTROL SURFACES
- THE LANDING GEAR AND RELATED DOORS
- COMPONENTS THAT MOVE.
MOVEMENT OF COMPONENTS CAN KILL OR CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND/OR DAM-
AGE TO EQUIPMENT.
WARNING: BEFORE YOU INSTALL/REMOVE THE GSE TOOL, READ THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUC-
TIONS, AND, WHILE YOU OPERATE THIS TOOL, CAREFULLY OBEY THEM. IF YOU DO NOT
DO THIS, INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT CAN OCCUR.
WARNING: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU USE CONSUMABLE MATERIALS. OBEY THE MATERIAL
MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS AND YOUR LOCAL REGULATIONS.
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU CONNECT/DISCONNECT THE TEST SET TO/FROM THE EQUIP-
MENT.
THE PRESSURE REGULATING VALVE AND THE PRESSURE GAGE ASSEMBLY OF THE
TEST SET ARE HEAVY AND CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE.

B. Safety Precautions
(1) Make sure that the engine 1(2) shutdown occurred not less than 5 minutes before you do this
procedure.
(2) On the AIR COND panel 30VU:
Make sure that the ENG 1(2) BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the OFF legend is on).
Make sure that the APU BLEED pushbutton switch is released (the ON legend is off).
Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to operate the pneumatic system.
(3) On the ENG panel 115VU:
Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to start the engine 1(2).
(4) On the HP ground connector:
Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to pressurize the pneumatic system.
(5) On the ENG section of the maintenance panel 50VU:
Make sure that the ON legend of the ENG/FADEC GND PWR 1(2) pushbutton switch is off.
Put a WARNING NOTICE(S) in position to tell persons not to energize the FADEC 1(2).

A. Preparation for the Functional Test
(1) Removal of the lockwire.
WARNING: USE GOGGLES WHEN YOU REMOVE OR INSTALL LOCKWIRE. EACH TIME YOU
CUT LOCKWIRE, REMOVE AND DISCARD IT IMMEDIATELY. LOOSE LOCKWIRE
CAN CUT YOU OR MAKE YOU BLIND, AND/OR CAN CAUSE DAMAGE.
(a) Remove the lockwire from the blanking plug of the OPV.
(2) Remove the blanking plug from the test port.
(3) Connect manually the TEST SET-EBAS,BLEED (98D36109001000) to the test port of the OPV.
(4) Close the shutoff valve, the purge valve and the pressure regulator valve on the TEST SET-
EBAS,BLEED (98D36109001000) .
NOTE: If the air cylinder has a regulator valve, it is not necessary to install the primary regulator valve
supplied with the test set.
(5) Connect manually the AIR SOURCE - REGULATED, FILTERED, DRY to the TEST SET-
EBAS,BLEED (98D36109001000) .
(6) Set the digital pressure gage to zero.
Subtask 36-11-53-720-074-A
B. Functional Test of the OPV 5HA1 (5HA2) with the Test Set - Engine Bleed System
(1) Do this test:
ACTION RESULT
1.On the AIR SOURCE - REGULATED, On the AIR SOURCE - REGULATED, FILTERED,
FILTERED, DRY: DRY:
Open the shutoff valve. The cylinder pressure gage shows the pressure.
2.On the AIR SOURCE - REGULATED, On the AIR SOURCE - REGULATED, FILTERED,
FILTERED, DRY: DRY:
Use the primary regulator to pressurize to 100 The primary gage shows 100 psi (6.89 bar).
psi (6.89 bar).
3.On the TEST SET - ENGINE On OPV 5HA1 (5HA2):
BLEED (98D36109001000) : Make sure that the visual position shows that
Slowly pressurize the system to get a pressure OPV 5HA1 (5HA2) is closed.
value of 90 psi (6.21 bar).
4.On the TEST SET - ENGINE On the TEST SET - ENGINE
BLEED (98D36109001000) : BLEED (98D36109001000) , read the pressure
Slowly depressurize the system to open the gage:
overpressure valve. When the pressure is less than 43 psi (2.96 bar)
the visual position shows that OPV 5HA1 (5HA2)
open.
5.On the TEST SET - ENGINE On OPV 5HA1 (5HA2):
BLEED (98D36109001000) : The visual position shows that OPV 5HA1
Depressurize the system. (5HA2) is open.
ACTION RESULT
6.Depressurize the AIR SOURCE - REGU-
LATED, FILTERED, DRY, and close the shutoff
valve.
5. Close-up
