in modern automotive engines. What are the advantages of MPFI engines?
b) What is 'fuel injection timing' of a diesel engine? What is the importance of optimum
injection-timing? Explain briefly.

3. a) Why the liquid-cooling is preferred over air-cooling for automotive engines? Explain.
b) With a neat circuit, describe the working principle of battery-ignition system of a
six-cylinder spark ignition engine.

4. a) What are various pollutants produced from SI engine exhaust?
