Reflection

For my student survey, I gave it to 15 of my Honors Algebra 1 students. This class was
the first one that I picked up at the beginning of the semester, and the last one that I gave back
towards the end. I wanted to give this survey to a class that has seen me from the beginning of
practicum to the end. While going through this data, there were some results that I was surprised
about, and others that I wasnt. There were certain questions that I knew asked about different
teaching styles that I hadnt incorporated into my teaching. I rarely asked my students to actually
rate their understanding, but I always made sure to check in a make sure everyone felt okay
about moving on to the next idea. It makes me happy to see that so many students are happy with
the way that I teach. I had made one of my goals this semester to make students wrong answers
into learning experiences and I see that most of my students feel as though I do that which is an
accomplishment to me. From this information I know there is room for improvement, but Im
glad to see that Ive made a difference and succeeded this semester at teaching this class.
