EXECUTION the act of bringing into effect a judgement, here the death penalty
DIMINISHED RESPONSIBILITY the defence available where the accused was
suffering from such
abnormality of mind as to substantially reduce
his mental
responsibility in doing, or being party to, a
crime
REPRIEVE the suspension of the execution of a criminal offence
