Good evening parents and students my name is Ms. Johnson and I am going to
be your third-grade teacher this year. I am so excited to see all the fun that this year will
bring. My goal for this year is to teach all the required material, but to have fun while I
am doing that. I want my students to want to come to school and want to learn. This
classroom will be filled with laughter and aha moments. Each student will walk out of
this classroom at the end of the year knowing so much more than they did when they
walked in at the beginning of the year. I love seeing my students walk out at the end of
the year standing a little taller than they did when they first walked in. Feeling a little
more confident than they did at the beginning of the school year.
My classroom is a safe place. Any issue that goes on I will handle it and make
sure that there is a resolution. Parents I want you to know that I am open to you always.
If there are ever any problems with your student or anything that concerns you, I want
you to know that I am here to discuss them and come up with a resolution. I have
printed out my contact information for you should you ever have to use it my phone
number, and email are provided for you to reach me about anything you need. If there
are ever any questions about what is going on in the classroom I will be available to
answer them. I am the head of this classroom and make it my business to always know
what is going on in my classroom.
I am not only here to teach your students I am here to make sure that they truly
understand what it is that I am teaching. Each day in my classroom will be a new
adventure into the world of learning. I want every student to walk out of my classroom
confident that they can do anything that they put their mind to. I will do this by taking the
special time out to make sure that every student has what they need to be successful in
this class. If any questions should ever arrive I will answer them to the best of my ability.
Although the students are here to learn I want them to also have fun and enjoy coming
to school each day. This will be achieved by them understanding. I will make it my top
priority to see that no child is left out or gets behind due to lack of understanding.
This year will be filled with fun projects as well as 2 field trips. That we will need
chaperones for if anyone would like to attend either one of these field trips I would be
more than happy to welcome you. This classroom is very much based on parent
interaction. That being said, once the students go home they need their parents to know
whats going on. I will make sure that each week there is a report that goes home letting
you know what is going on in the classroom as well as what your individual student
should be working on at home. They say it takes a village to raise a child, the same
thing goes for teaching a child. Without all of you parents it would be impossible to do
my job effectively. You are a huge part in your childs learning experience not just me as
their teacher. Encouragement from you will help make them feel like they can rule the
world and also pass the third grade.
As I said before my job is not only to teach your student from the book, but to
also teach your student how to properly interact with their peers. I have a zero-tolerance
policy when it comes to bullying, bullying is not cool at all and anyone who does bully
will be dealt with accordingly. I want each student to feel safe when they come to
school, I want them to know that they are here to learn, make friends and be more than
ready when it comes time for them to move on to the next grade. I want your student to
actually believe that learning is fun. Its not all just about the work that is done and
turned in, its about having fun while you gain knowledge that will stick with you
throughout life. I will instill a love for learning that will not change.
Teaching is my passion and I will make sure that it is evident in the work that I do
with your children. While they are here I will treat them as if they are my own children. I
will treat them with the respect that they deserve and I will hold them accountable for
their responsibilities as a student. I will show each student what it means to be a
learner. This year will be fun and I am looking forward to working with each student and
each parent to achieve the main goal, which is getting your child to the next grade and
eventually to college. Thank you parents for attending and I hope that we have an
amazing year together.
