Topic Proposal

During the civil war there werent as many nurses as possible to help

with the injuries of the war. Many nurses werent even certified to take care

of a patient because during that time there werent any school for nurses.

Also there werent as much as good medications for patients as there is

today. The purpose of this project is to make everyone aware of the situation

that every nurse and soldier were facing during the civil war and how cruel

things were. We believe that if we let everyone know about this horrible

situation we can make people contribute on not letting this to happen again

because there were many different cases that caused many problems

because of how unprofessional things were during the civil war for example

the medication wasnt that advance. The significance of this project is to

inform the reader of how the nurses during the civil war were treated and

how medication wasnt as advance that brought also difficulties to the

soldiers. There is so much information about the medication that was given

to the soldiers when there had to have an amputation brought many effects

to their life and after they went back to there home.

What brought me to write about this case of how many soldiers had

many effects because of the chloroform they were giving during the war was

of how interesting this case was and how many different perspectives are

given. Some methods that I used for this project was making an outline

bubble map and write any information about the perspective of the nurses

and also about what effects the soldiers had during the war. Also another
method that I used that really helped me was researching all the information

but in the perspective of the nurses and also the effects that brought

chloroform. Those are some few steps and methods that I used to helped me

through this project.

During my research I found a document mentioning how in the civil

war they werent that advanced on medication. In result of that cause the

only thing that they could give to the soldiers for the pain of each

amputation was chloroform. However, many soldiers got more and more

addicted to it. An other result that in my opinion could have had happen with

the soldiers that survived the medication. In my opinion I believe whoever

gets addicted to any kind of medication never ends up good. So there were

many results that caused this terrible tragedy to have many effects.

In conclusion during the war they really didnt have any professional

nurses during that time. In that case women who had their husbands in the

war, they were the ones who became the nurses during the war. However, all

of those women didnt have any experience on treating a patient or even

dealing with many many injured people. In conclusion the nurses never knew

that the chloroform was going to have been effects on the soldiers during

and after the civil war.

After doing all this research and read all about how the nurses worked

during the civil war, now I know how during that time people really didnt

care so much on having a professional nurse taking care of the soldiers. As I

mention before my purpose of you reading this topic is to inform you of how
things have really changed from the time of civil war to today. A

recommendation that is actually already happening is getting to become a

nurse now in days is very difficult because of how much responsibility each

nurse have in there every day job. Also now medical people know what

medication is good or bad for their patients. In my opinion medical people

during the civil war didnt think about what could be the affect in the future.

Like a mention many soldiers had a hard time in life because of how bad the
