Interview Q & A

1. Diagnostic tests that occurred this year are MAP, CAT4, phonic awareness
test, spelling inventory and RAZ kids.
2. All diagnostic tests occur in the beginning of the year so as we teachers can
have a back group about the student academic level, and if student level is in
beginner we can set for his or her approaches that can help him in
developing. Tests such as MAP testing occur in the beginning of each term
and this test is not being used to figure out what student knows already but
what student need to learn, but . Moreover, this test is not a part of the
childs grades and should simply be used to indicate where the child is
academically at a given point in time. MPT test score will show the teacher
what the student must be working on to improve the most and to be
successful.
3. We conduct all types of assessment; both formative and summative and they
take place orally, verbally and in written from. Formative assessments are
happening during a leaning activity unit , and its aim is to improve leaning ,
where teacher is giving to the student some advises , moreover this
assessment always referees to the materials that student is using , and who
he is using and leaning issues. However summative assessment comes on
the conclusion of leaning , where the student will be done from the unit , this
assessment is happened to make the final decision or to judgment .
4. All our assessments come from the assessment guides provided in the core
curriculum teachers manual, and the each teacher have her own
assessment , or assessment approach , for example asking questions , or
having a mini test in the begin or the class.
5. The subject teacher conducts the assessment, and each subject have his own
way of assessing .
6. Assessments such as quizzes and tests are done individually , so the teacher
can know who the student is , and where he is in the academic .Whereas
formative assessment is done in-group form or with partners in pairs.
7. I am hoping to gain insight into students level of understanding of main
objectives/ideas. I also look for common mistakes that a majority of students
make in order for me to clear their problem areas.
8. I revisit my lesson plans and attend to students needs based on the common
mistakes made by them that serves as a marker. Extra academic support and
special attention may be needed for some students who may be struggling
especially in basic concepts such as addition and subtraction or phonics and
grammar or inquiry skills.
9. It is school policy that all classroom seating setup be done in groups. I choose
to group my students and have them seated in a mixed ability group so that
high ability students are encouraged to help struggling students. Students
seating arrangements are also changed depending on the kind of activity
required. Whenever differentiation activities are to be conducted and the
reason is that students have unlike ways of expiating the information,
moreover having different types of activities keep students engaged and
motivate for the class. However, I sit my students down according to their
academic level to allow for more focused teaching and support. To avoid
disturbances or distractions, students who are extra chatty or restless are not
permitted to sit together.
10.Yes, its change, because each teacher have her own way in teaching , and
managing the class , and students , put for sure that each teacher have the
record of academic level of each student , and read with them based on their
level, and try to let the student meet with his instructional l level .

Reflection on the Questions

There are many kinds of assessments for evaluating the students
instructional level, and this accord from the teacher. Most of the teachers
are assessing students in the beginning of the year to know, the level of the
knowledge that they have, and based of that evaluations teacher will
scaffold the student, for example with having a study plan with him.
Formative and summative assessments are the slang assessments for the
curriculum, teachers are forced to do it with the students moreover, depend
too much on one or the other, and the reality of student achievement in your
classroom becomes unclear.
According to the teacher answers about the assessment, she said that she is assessing
her student every beginning of the year to know the level of the student, and if the
student are beginner so she can setup of him or her some approaches or strategies to
let the student meet with her or him need. In addition, every subject teacher has her
way or assessing the student, and this assessing grade are not consider as an official
grade, but this will be with the teacher, so she can know if there are development,
because she will be assessing the student in what he have weakens. They are also
consuming the formative and summative assessment in each term , so the formative
assessment take place in every lesson, where teacher is providing her student with
advise, of what they are doing , and who they did, however the summative assessment
they are doing after each unit , this assessment is happened to make the final
decision or to judgment in their development. According to her, she said that, she
is supporting student with having in her lesson plans some strategies that can aid
the student in his or her difficulty, and she is mixing up students, when they are
sitting in the group to encourage students to help each other .
In the future as I will be a teacher , I will be like to assess my students in the
beginning or the year also , because this will aid me to know about the student in
geranial in his academic, for example if I will be teaching grade 3 students, I will be
assessing them in their previous grade knowledge, for example I will play with
them a matching game where they have to match the picture with the word, or
they will have to fill the gap with the letter to complete the word . Most of the
students they are fared from assessment, so I will try to make it in a fun way to
encourage the student to do it, this way will aid me to know about each student
level, also will make me aware of how they like to get their education, so when I will
come to the scaffolding part I will know how this student like to be scaffold.
However its depend on the grade that teacher will be teaching for example if a
teacher is teaching grade 6 her way of assessing will be unlike to a teacher that
teach grade 3 , but in the end they benefit of doing this is same which is knowing
about the student level and boost the student if he or she need, and even is she or
he do not need it, so teacher can move them in advance level . This type of
assessment will effect on student learning sure , and will be impact on a positive
way, because they will be practicing and more they practice more thy will become
batter on it , and more will discover.
