Tips to destroy the fear of using MS OFFICE 2007

Under this heading of “Why should we fear not MS Office 2007?” it is simply tried to
give some important tips which will enable you to change over from any earlier versions of
MS Office to MS Office 2007 or to even MS Officer 2010 with ease. Microsoft has tried
their level best to make the work on MS Office enjoyable. The diagram will ease out some of
the fear about the new software. All the relevant menus are there on the page itself as if they
know your requirement. The following few pages will give you the new pattern of menus.

The colorful upper part of the window of Word 2007 is called Ribbon. This area is
having seven Tabs viz. Home, Insert, Page Layout, References, Mailings, Review and View.
Some may show some more according to the other installed programmes like Acrobat etc.

Before going to the individual Tab selection, just see what you have been provided in
the MS Office logo as seen in the below diagramme. Most of the common task is there.

You will get menus on the screen according to your selection of Tabs.

Just have a look at the important seven Tabs:

Home:

Under the Home Tab, most of the task you need when you type or format the
document is available. (New methods of single stroke shortcuts are described later).

The Tab Insert gives you wide choice of options for insertion. It includes Table to Symbols.

Just have a view of Tab Insert as below:

Under Page Layout there is nothing left regarding the page setting.

Set your page according to your taste. From print layout to Zoom are available under this
tab.

The most exciting new option under Office 2007 is that if you press Alt, the shortcut hints are
there on the screen. If you press Office 2007, the screen will be like this with each menu
showing some numbers and alphabets.

For example, after pressing Alt key press ‘N’/’n’ (stands for insert menu).

Now if you press ‘T’/’t’ table menu will be activated and sub menus are ready to insert any
type of table. Just like this:

What an easy way to work on documents.

Have the common knowledge that the menus for Access, Excel, and Power Point etc. having
the same type of changes and look similar to the diagrams you are already acquainted. So do
not fear to change the new MS Office 2007 or 2010.
