The impact of inequality on society

Nowadays societies are being affected by inequality, defined as instance of unevenness, which is a
substantial issue across the world. Inequality has many aspects including: education, health care,
wealth distribution, among others. It is important to know and research about these issues,
because they are affecting all the people who do not belong to the richest families. Thus, how does
this inequality affect us as a society?

The first issue we are concerned about is inequality related to education, this problem can be
notice at the moment of choosing an educational institution. Furthermore, private education tends
to be better than public education, because it is known that private schools have all the resources
to deliver the knowledge that the students require, whereas the resources of public schools depend
on government funding which can be limited by the annual budget. When we get to this point,
family income has an essential role, due to the fact that poor people are not able to afford the cost
of being educated in private institutions.

The second issue is health care, which is related to the ones already mentioned, because it can be
affected by a low family income. To have access to quality health care, families must spend huge
amounts of money in order to afford health insurance that covers all the health conditions they may
suffer.

The third issue is the unequal wealth distribution, which is growing very quickly in richer countries,
and people should be aware of the effects that this gap can have. In countries such as Turkey and
United States, this gap is 14 to 1 between the poorest and richest population; meaning that the
wealthiest people earn 14 times more money.

In conclusion, governments should be aware of these problems, because it is important to ensure

a high quality of life among within the societies. The authorities ought to look after their citizens,
considering all of these facts, for they have the responsibility of reducing the differences between
people.
