Competency A Professionalism and Understanding:

You have continued to exhibit very satisfactory professionalism. The very

good rapport you have established with the students and MST seems to be
serving you very well - it was very encouraging that Your MST joined in you
for some team teaching to sum up the bean planting activity at the end.
There have not been any negative reports about your conduct or progress
from the school. You should sustain this momentum for the rest of your
internship.

Category B Planning for Learning:

A lesson plan was forwarded in time before the lesson. The learning
outcomes were presented in viable behavioural terms. The accompanying
teaching aids demonstrated that careful preparation and attention to detail
had gone into the planning for this lesson.

Category C Implementing and Managing Learning:

The learners were quickly engaged with the day and date followed by a
quick review of the classroom rules and procedures. Then the learners were
taken through a quick review of the previously covered vocabulary items. The
activity worked great the accompanying TPR in spelling each word was
particularly effective. The follow-up activity about Our Green Earth was well
introduced with realia a potted plant. The ensuing class discussion about
the importance of trees in our green earth worked satisfactorily. After this, the
learners worked in groups to assign part of a tree on an A3 laminated sheet
of paper. The learners completed the task very satisfactorily. The follow-up
discussion of the group responses could have allowed for more learner
manipulation of the target language. Then the learners planted bean seeds in
recycled bottles with soil in them. The Expecting the learners to wait for
instructions when they already had the materials was unrealistic with a group
of inquisitive learners they were keen to go. Nevertheless, good job with the

hands on activity.

Category D Monitoring and Assessment of Learning:

You continue to use Q & A very efficiently and effectively to engage the
learners and elicit desired responses. You have also continued to provide very
satisfactory scaffolding for the learners during all tasks.

Category E Reflection:

Your self-reflection was very satisfactory. Your thoughts about why students
seem to have forgotten previous work covered and your comments about
mediation were very viable.

Strengths of the Lesson:

The main strengths of this lesson were: Exemplary classroom control, very
good rapport with the learners, and use of Q & A .

Areas for Development:

Continue working on ensuring that you give a solid model of the target
language both orally and written to avoid fossilization of teacher errors by the
learners. For example: 1) Grammar Raise your hands when you will finish;
Dont drop the litters 2) Question framing How we can save our earth?;
What we will plant?

Focus for next lesson:

Please continue providing for more manipulation of the target language this
is one of the keys to L2 acquisition. Do not forget to continue working on
meeting your PDP goals and wrapping up your AR project.
