Reflection of lesson plan 6 (Nov 27)

This lesson is the third lesson in Unit 5 which is the structure and function; the lesson title is

getting oxygen to cells. This lesson will help the students in learning the process of getting

oxygen to cells, extending their knowledge and gain new vocabularies about the body systems,

organs, tissues, and cells. I follow the 5es in planning for the lesson. The first stage in the

engagement stage, I start with showing pictures in the PowerPoint and apply inquiry by letting

them search in their books about the function, organs and the definition of each system. Then, I

move to the explore stage, which includes experiment.

I believe that the experiment does a very useful work in Science lessons because it gives a clear

idea before starting the lesson and helps the students in discovering the main idea of the lesson.

Then, in the explaining stage, I prefer to use the PowerPoint because it helps in organizing the

ideas of the lesson and help the teachers in remembering all the steps and cover all the important

points. After that, the elaborate stage, I gave an extra information to extend the students

knowledge and transfer hem from the level that they were at a higher level. Transferring the

students from level to another level in giving them and extra information help in improving their

brain abilities. Then, in the evaluation stage, they will summarize the lesson and the information

that they took, so, I can easily select who understands the lesson well or not.

All of my activities follow the differentiation strategy, and its very useful and give positive

results because it gives each student the activity that suitable for their level and help in letting

them do the work that they understand and help them. If I gave high-level students an easy

activity, they would not be challenged, and they will misbehave because they are not finding

something that attracts them. And if I gave low-level students a high-level work, they will not do
work because they dont have the skills to do the work and they will misbehave because they are

not doing anything that suitable for their level.
