Summer Reading Advice
STEM Day!
Studies have shown that students
may lose reading skills if they do
not read during the summer
months. To help keep your child on
their current level here are a few
suggestions:
Make reading a part of your
summer routine (have your child
set aside time to read every day).
Read the same book your child is
reading and discuss it.
Take regular trips to the library.
When your child chooses books to
read independently, be sure the
book is on their independent
reading level (children have been
informed what their level is. If your
child doesnt remember their level
email his/her teacher)
