WHO A select group of teachers who have voyager students enrolled in

their classrooms were in attendance at the meeting. Nearly 20
teachers were there, and all had a chance to discuss issues
pertaining to voyager students who needed some extra support or
immediate attention. All teachers seemed familiar with this
meeting format, and were ready with lists of students to discuss.
This made the meeting quick and efficient.
WHAT This was a meeting designed to bring attention of various teachers
to specific students needing more support or intervention to their
current academic performance or personal performance as a
member of the lobo community. Each teacher had a list of
students and at the meeting, went around the table discussing
particular students of interest ones that were struggling socially
or academically and posing questions or possible solutions to the
problems these students were having. The discussions were
formal, with a tone of concern for each student, and it was clear all
the teachers wanted both what was best for the student and what
was best for themselves and the Rocky community. Many
conclusions were reached, and plans were made to check in on
these students and potentially amend their accommodations.
WHEN The meeting took place during lunch from 11:00-11:30. The 10
minutes before, teachers came in, set up, and grabbed their
provided lunch from a table in the back of the room.
Wher The meeting took place in a conference room at Rocky Mountain
High School. There was a large table in the center that the
e teachers sat around with a few tables and filing cabinets along the
walls. There was a connecting office and a computer in the corner
of the room where the proctor sat to lead the discussion and
take notes.
WHY The Voyager program is in place at Rocky Mountain High School to
help struggling students both stay in and succeed in school. These
teachers care deeply about their students success, and
implementing individualized attention and strategies can greatly
increase these students abilities to make a community, and

accomplish tasks in school. These interventions and connections
with students are a large part of what the Rocky community is built
on.
