ABU KHALIYL TONY SYLVESTER

Abu Khaliyl Tony Sylvester is a well-known daee from Philadelphia. He

currently resides in Mobile, Alabama. Born into a Christian family, he
embraced Islam during his teen years.

Well-versed in the Arabic language, he is one of the main English editors for
the popular Islamic publishing house, Dar-us-Salaam Publications. He played
a lead role in editing several of their English publications such as Tafseer Ibn
Katheer the popular multi-volume commentary of the noble Quran and Ar-
Raheeq Al-Makhtum (The Sealed Nectar), the award winning book on
biography of the Prophet sallahu alaiyhe wasallam, written by Shaykh Safi-ur
Rahman Al-Mubarakpuree. He specializes in the study of ahadeeth and has
received the ijaazah (permission) by Shaykh Al-Mubarakpuree for teaching
the Sihah Sittah (the six well-known collection of ahaadith). He has himself
authored or co-authored many beneficial books on Islam such as A Brief
Illustrated Guide to Understanding Islam, Saying Salah Upon the Prophet,
and Straightening the Lines of Prayer to name a few.

Besides writing books he also teaches online classes on Sunan At-

Tirmidhee and Sunan Ibn Majah to students in the UK and US.
Additionally, he runs an Islamic bookstore called Daar Al-Kitab wal-Hikmah
and a website www.dkh-islam.com.
