{thas been my privilege to teach Jeff in two courses during his Bachelor of Education
program. He is an outstanding student, an excellent beginning teacher, and an extremely
‘thoughtful and committed professional.
In Spring 2016, Jeff completed ED 3601: Principles of Curriculum and Instruction for
Majors in Social Studies. He completed all assignments thoroughly and thoughtfully. He
demonstrated an in-depth understanding of the Social Studies program and developed an
‘outstanding unit plan that he was able to implement in his student teaching practicum
fssignment, He sought advice and was very thoughtful in attending to the feedback
provided.
In Fall 2016, Jeff completed my ED 4361: History of Canadian Education course. His
written work demonstrated analytical and critical skills I would expect of graduate
Students, In this lass, [frequently required students to work together to analyze primary
historical documents or discuss critical questions. Jeff demonstrated excellent leadership
in these small group activities, collaborating constructively with colleagues and.
‘volunteering ideas in whole class discussions. The culminating assignment for the course
required stadents to conduct research, locating and analyzing primary source material in
nder to answer a critical historical question. Jeff showed tremendous initiative in
Tocating source material and pursued his research ata level that far exceeded the
requirements of the course. This is a demonstration of his curiosity, and bis dedication to
his learning.
