The Expedition of literature started with the blunt sword army. The army was

inexpert, crude but determined. Since, no one is victorious without their commander in

chief so werent we, Our chief Corri Ditch. The journey was a cyclone of happenings,

both personally and educationally. Ironically this expedition has no kingdoms just

wisdom. lets explore the journey of acquiring.

Journey starts with me walking into English 113A class, as I was presuming a

conventional English lecture where we would be needed to recite a passage and write

about it. Try Imagining my surprise when I learned we would be working on a semester

long project based on one subject. Inside, I couldnt help but confess I was enthusiastic

for a break in the routine of education. Of course watching back, I should have seen the

procrastinator in me squirming, a semester long project? However, while the

procrastinator occasionally won, I could have kept on high of my effort more, Im proud

of the final assignment that is this portfolio.

First progression, revolves around Aaron Devors article Becoming members of

society and No way my boys going to be like that by Emily Kane. As I started the

narration I felt a strong mounting of ideas. But when it came to molding it in writing I

tragically failed. I was stuck for three complete hour structuring my analog. New recruit,

blunt sword tried hard but deficient of knowledge. Next meeting unexpectedly wasnt so

unexceptionally, the lost hope revived, Chief was there with the rescue. Professor Corri

ditch helped understand a different way of writing, a totally different style from what I

use to practice. She suggested to open the essay mentioning the authors and articles, then

develop your thesis . What I was taught in my high school was totally opposite, we were

focusing on building a strong introduction with very less information about the centric

plot or the argument in our essays. So, I tried my analog starting with the direct mentions

for authors and article and later a metaphoric way to state my thesis. My thesis quotes as

parenting is similar to pottery, just like the potter gives a definite shape to their pots:

parents shape their children, adaptation, certain characteristics. Basic but gradual

progress in writing. Steady start wins the race, later I wasnt having any issues about what

to write but what not to write, a wide range of exploration took me a way apart from the

prompt. Debates and argument where strong but not the aimed. This takes us to the

second part of expedition.

Aim was the simplest looking but one of the most competed task to keep a track

on. Constructing an aimed was much harder than constructing gender. This stage of

expedition would be the most important development I made in my writing experiences.

To strengthen my aim: had to strengthen my supports. Support develops only by

researching about the topics. Progression 2 essay is major conflict of support and content.

As progression 2 started I was ready with a strong opening statement but the aim wasnt

that sharp nor was the soldier. Solider loses his focus and misses his aim. As I started

with developing the support as well as the prompt I was able to see that bullets were

useless without aim. So developing aim I targeted certain areas where argument can went

wrong, the mention about wage gap was the initial step in aiming the glory. The

exploration and the journey of discovering wasnt over yet.

The most effective and dangerous, the more you explore the deeper you go.as

English is not my first language the major issues is tackled while discovering the lack of

article which make the complete stamen grammatically incorrect. And this was the

hardest fix. Solider again in problem runs straight to chief and asks for a solution. So,

professor Corri Ditch suggested me to make a visit to Learning resources center. Turned

miracles the fix was just a matter of practice. 4 appoints at LRC was enough to give a

preview of involving in grammar as well as writing.

After the end of this first journey my personally most liked assignment was My

Progression 2 essay as the advertisement I talked about was strongly conceptualize on

stereotype domesticating of women ideology which was a strong topic to debate on

whilst change being effective support with sharp aim on.

Concluding: I learned about how to make narration from a picture, visual text.

Extensive, Challenging yet interesting. The major learning was the experience and

involvement. A Component of development.
