STUDENT BEHAVIOR (MAJORITY OF STUDENTS):

Explain:
Most of the students were putting attention to the lesson, however , about 5 students sitting in different
areas of the classroom were using their phone, listening music, eating, or talking with their peer quietly at
their desk. The teacher did not tell them anything probably because she did not notice them.

Explain:
She used direct instruction to teach the students the lesson, also, she gives them the material related to the
subject like handouts and she gives simple examples for their understanding, they do a worksheet during
class time, and the students will have homework for practice. Moreover, she use the classroom technology
to explain the material.

Explain:
The teacher gave the students handouts with the rubric, one essay example, and one blank rubric for them
to practice the essay evaluation.

After she explained the material, the students worked individually using the worksheet, after that, they
discussed their answers with the whole classroom, and the teacher make corrections or clarify their

Explain:
The students have to do the worksheet in the classroom and discuss their answers with the classmates,
also they will have to do an essay at home putting in practice what they had learn during the lesson.

Explain:
During my time in the classroom, I observed that only one of the students was talking loudly and she took
care of the disruptive behavior immediately, so the teacher told him be quiet.

OVERALL COMMENTS AND REFLECTIONS:

This classroom was an English class, but because of the coming STAAR test, the agenda for the class was
only practicing for the test. The topic of the day was the persuasive/ argumentative essay, so the teacher
gave to the students, an example rubric used to check the essay format, an old essay from last year test,
worksheet and homework with the purpose to prepare them for the evaluation in this area subject. The
teacher was the only one in the classroom giving the lesson. In my opinion, she addresses very good any
disruptive behavior, and she has knowledge of the subject, she transmits confidence to the students. Also,
I notice that she handles very well the classroom, and the student respects her.
