John 6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me
I will in no wise cast out.
Glorious God and Father:
This is Good News! How can I not share it? No one coming to Christ can
be stopped. If moving toward God, forward progress is never hindered.
Matt. 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it
shall be opened unto you:
Anyone who seeks will findwithout fail. Make seekers out of _________
and __________. Not one lost soul in hell can say, I was coming and he
stopped me. I was on my way, but it was too late. I got there and he refused me.
No. It is not possible for any of my friends, relatives or acquaintances to be
the first person to whom God breaks his word. Let me reach them with the
message that if they simply start seeking, they will be found by God!
On this point I can be clear: as I come to you with the evils of my day, you
will not refuse my prayer. Let me go together, with the churchbeseeching God
in prayer, imploring him in total dependencebecause each one will find grace
for the way. What did they say when they accused Jesus?
Luke 15:2 The Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners,
Amen! He receives and he never refuses. That is true of the same-sex
sinner, the hetero-sinner, and of me in my failures and faithlessness. I come by
prayerand that prayer is a broken one. I come by confessionand that
confession is a faulty one. I come with praiseand that praise falls far short of
what you really deserve. Yet you receive even me!
Lord, I am worn-out and worthless. Thank you for not casting me out.
Now help me share that same hope with others, in Jesus name. Amen.

John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I
come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that
they may be one, as we are.
Loving Father and Holy Guardian:
You are the one who made me, so you also have to make me holy,
otherwise I can never attain the likeness of Christ in this life. Like begets like.
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of
God, even to them that believe on his name:
Part of that power to become lies in becoming holy according to the image of
Christ. Yet I am wedded to iniquity by nature. I go astray all by myself, but I
can never return on my own. My degenerate nature can rot in putrid decay, but
it can never return to purity or sweeten itself into perfection. Sanctification is
your work from beginning to end. By it, make all things new in my life!
Who is sufficient for these things? I cannot go even one step toward
holiness in my own strength. Whenever I think I can, it is a fictitious advance that
leads to bitter disappointment. How necessary it was for you to pray to your
Father: Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth, John 17:17.
Holy Spirit, work in my new nature the purification, the consecration, and
the perfecting of Christs life in me. More than that, let the events of Providence
surrounding me work toward that one end. May my joys and sorrows, my pains
of body and griefs of heart, my losses and crosses, all be sacred medicines to cure
me of the disease of my natural propensity to sin. Everything that happens on
the road to eternity is meant to prepare me for the journeys end. Let my
way through the wilderness uncover my evils so they can be repented-of, and
thereby overcome. In this I echo Jesus prayer today. Amen.

Gen. 49:24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong
by the hands of the mighty God of Jacob; (from thence is the shepherd, the stone of Israel:)
O Mighty Shepherd-Stone:
How we need your power to accomplish your Eternal Purpose! We need
real strength, not locker-room boasting. We need true divine potency.
Why did Joseph stand against temptation? Because you gave him aid. Lord
we confess, there is nothing we can do without your power. All true strength
comes from the mighty God of Jacob.
You give us this strength in a familiar waythe arms of his hands were made
strong by the hands of the mighty God. Put your hands on our hands! Place your arms
around our arms! Like a father teaches his child to shoot the arrow from a bow,
teach us who fear you to call on your name.
What condescension! Omnipotent, almighty God steps off his throne, and
stoops to our need. Make us strong in your work!
You grant us this strength in a covenant wayas God of Jacob. That phrase
reminds us of Jacob (unworthy), yet it also reminds us of the covenant you made
with him. All the power, grace, blessings, mercies, and provisions to accomplish
your Eternal Purpose flow to us through your covenant. If there were no New
Covenant then we would fail indeed, for we are as faulty and flawed as Jacob.
It may be the archers have sorely struck us. It may be we feel wounded and
weak in ourselves. But our bow still abides in strength, because it is having your
arm on our hands on which we really rely. Give us not the arm of the flesh to
help us, for we need to be able to ascribe all the glory to Jacobs God!
Help us by your Spirit to take your word to all men and women. Give us
your grace to fulfill the mission of the great co-mmission Jesus gave us. Amen.

Isa. 2:4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and
they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall
not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Glorious God and Heavenly Father:
The presence of peace is a key sign of revival. O Lord, how I wish I did
not grieve and chase-away your Spirit by my lack of peace!
Thank you for letting peace prevail in my heart by salvation, because that
provides a glowing contrast to those who live without hope. Let me look at lives
and relationships surrounding me and prevail in prayer, so instruments of
destruction are beat into other shapes, and used for better purposes. Let me take
the instrument of pride and turn it into prayer. Let me take the instrument of self
and turn it into service; and the instrument of hate and turn it into hope.
Peace does not come by free trade, or by the expansion of strategic
alliances, or by negotiation and treaties. Past history, and even recent events
forbid my trusting in means so feeble as these. Peace is only established when
I submit to the Lordship of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ.
Here is my revival praying: Teach my mind Lord, by your Spirit. Renew my
emotions by your grace. Reign over my body with your power. Let me then turn
others away from wounding and hatred, and into the same peace I have.
Every shooting and act of violence (random or intended) proves how man
is a monster when his blood gets up. Lord, only you can turn lions into lambs by
changing our heart and removing all evil passions.
I pray in your will today that hatred would cease in my church AND my
community, that peace would reign, and that your Eternal Purpose would be
accomplished by my life forever. For so I ask it in Jesus name. Amen.

Psa. 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine
heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Longsuffering Lord and God of Grace:
If I want you to hear my voice, then I have to be responsive to your call.
Help my heart echo the will of God in prayer as faithfully as the Rockies echo the
yell of the yodeler. Would to God I were more sensitive to your Spirit than I am!
Faintness of heart is my common weakness. But then, even David who
slew Goliath was subject to its attacks. Faith prevents fainting. Give me more
faith. I must believe to see, not see to believe.
I will wait at your door with prayer. I will wait at your feet with humility. I
will wait at your table with service. I will wait at your window with expectancy for
what you are going to do. Strengthen my heart so my whole body is filled with
power. Give me a strong heart so I will have a strong arm for you!
Psa. 28:2 Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my
hands toward thy holy oracle.
My cry is a natural expression of sorrow, but I have to direct it to you if I
want help from the Lord. You are ready to hear and able to help. Let me flee to
you every hour of this day. You may seem to shut your ears, but I will not shut
my mouth. If prayer were only a religious exercise I would give up and stop, but
it is notI pray in faith. I am not satisfied with prayer simply being a way to calm
my troubled mind. No, I look for actual replies and wait, continuing in prayer.
I reach toward you, up to my God; give me your blessing today. I stretch-
out my empty hands, because I know you are the one who fills them. I thank you
in advance that you do so, because I know you purchased these blessings for me
on the cross. Hallelujah for the finished work of Christ! Amen.

HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED LIFE
1) TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2) TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3) TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.
QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS
Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)
Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of
walking with us)
Basing beliefs and actions on the mind of Christ (your church relationship in
the Word)

INSTRUCTIONS:
Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
