Writing
He can write Arabic very well with no
missing's letters.

He has a problem and its that when he is

writing he makes big spaces between word
letters.

But he is capable to write and he knows the

letters, he is an excellent student.
He is capable to write the sentence
with pictures.

In his writing there are missing letters

in each word. E.g. Playd= Played.

His writing in Arabic is excellent unlike

his second language.
Strategies that were used.
Phonetic- Approx. (5-7)
Spelling attempts show almost a perfect match between
letters and sound.
Children make attempts to spell difficult words.
They may experience difficulty In discriminating certain
sounds accurately enough to match them with
appropriate letter or letter cluster. E.g. Sbin=Spin,
Sdop=Stop, Chch= Church.
Connection to theories.
More irregular words are written as if they were phonically
correct. E.g. Wos=Was, Sed=Said, Bcos= Because.

Children at this stage need to be taught the use of

strategies. Such as Visual imagery and spelling by
analogy, as sometimes some children do not progress
beyond this stage.
