8. Discuss your strengths and weaknesses as (a) a team leader and (b) team member, and discuss
how you plan to improve your weaknesses as you matriculate through the undergraduate
program, graduate, and move into the workforce.

Throughout the course of INEN286, the discussion of what it takes to be a good

team leader as well as a good team member, the Interpersonal Skills Self-Assessment,
Leadership Style Assessment, have all projected what kind of leader and team member that
I am. I believe that a strength of my leadership is my organizational skills. This is because I
can keep order in every task that I complete, making me more efficient. An area that I can
work on in my leadership would be being a perfectionist. Sometimes I feel that if someone
does not complete a task in the manner I would, it is not good enough, this can bring a team
down and further from success. As a team member, one of my strengths are my
transparency. I am good at hearing what ideas people have as well as providing my own.
One of my weaknesses of a team member is always taking charge of the project; this could
harm the group because sometimes other people are more qualified. I plan to improve my
weaknesses by taking a step back and letting others take the lead as well as not focusing on
the perfection of small aspects. These strengths and weaknesses make me who I am as a
team leader and a team member, improving my weaknesses will make me even better.

Note, this question will be graded based upon the content of your response, but will also be
assessed for our accreditation purposes using the communication rubric please refer to this
rubric before answering the question.
