Objectives:
TLW be introduced to different biomes of Earth
TLW understand how resources dictate populations
Engage/Anticipatory Set:
- What does Resources Dictate Populations mean?
- Have students answer this question on a scrap piece of paper
Explore/Independent Practice:
- Climatogram Data Analysis
- Students analyze temperature and precipitation data from various
cities around the globe. They use the data to create a climograph.

Elaborate/Guided Practice:
- Together as a class we analyze the set of data from all of the groups. Are there
any trends? Patterns? Compare and contrast the climographs. How do they relate to
each other?
Evaluation/Closure:
- Summative assessment at the end of the unit
- Exit ticket: What does Resources Dictate Population mean?
