You are now a leading member of a country participating in the peace negotiations
after the First World War. The Paris Peace Conference covered many things but now
all that remains to do is figure out who is to blame (War Guilt) and what the
reparations they should have to pay.

As a country, research what your needs/position are after the war and what you
might want out of the Paris Peace Conference. You will create a document which
outlines these ideas as well as the evidence which supports your position. Decide
how you will handle negotiations with the other countries. You wont be able to get
everything that you want so what are something that you are willing to move on
and others that you refuse.

After preparing this document, we will simulate negotiations during a class period
where all countries will eventually come to a consensus of what the Treaty should be
and who is to blame (War Guilt) as well as their reparations. Try to get into the
mindset of your country as well as remember who your allies are.

After the negotiations are through, the secretaries will finalize the new Treaty from
the notes they took during the discussion.

Set up of the negotiations: Leaders will be sitting in a circle with their other team
members behind them. Each leader will have a chance to state their position
afterwards, the other members of the team will be able to assist their leader in the
negotiations by using the material that was prepared about what they were willing
to bend on in order to achieve peace.
