5 to 8 sentence summary of the claims made by the author. Must be complete

sentences. A bulleted list will not be accepted.

1. Ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment society

Date Ratification attempted from 1972 to 1982

Even though the majority of people supported the new amendment, people were
scared that this amendment would change the traditional roles of the home, that the
mother would now become an impactful part of the workplace. But why are people
scared of traditional roles in the home changing? We dont live in a traditional society. If
you think about it, theres a lot of things about society and our daily lives that arent
traditional. More and more fathers are becoming stay home dads and taking care of
household work. Which i personally think is good for society because i think it's about
time roles of the home arent looked down upon anymore if they arent the norm that
society has set for them.

2. Why Most Women will Never become CEO: society

Gene Marks;10/31/11;Forbes Magazine

One claim made by the author is that sexism in the workplace is better than what it
use to be, but now a days, it's a lot more discreet. He says that a lot of men in the
workplace have the maturity of his teenage son. Men are still trying to take women
seriously in the workplace. Men also continue to treat more attractive women better
than less attractive women strictly because of how they look, not even caring about
what kind of worker they are. But thats just kinda how todays society is, judging
someone on their appearance and not for the person they are on the inside.

3. Culture and Religion Should Not Justify Gender Religion

Inequality
The chief allegedly told his subjects that it was against custom to vote for a woman in
mourning, since she lost her husband prior to the elections. In some certain socities, religion
determines your place in your home and just in life. For example, i know in christianity, the bible
briefly talks about how women are to take care of the children and cook and clean and
support the husband. In the article, both a man and a woman lost their spouse, the man only
had to stay out of the public eye for a month, while the woman had to stay out of it for at least
two years. I feel that we are a little different in todays society, but still have a small portion of
those values.

4. How Different Groups Spend Their Day (infographic) society

Men on average spend 12% of their day doing Household work while women spend 17%
of their day doing household activities. This shows that on average, women are doing
traditional cooking and cleaning and taking care of things around the house, while the
man is doing more handy things that need to be done. 39% of men are spending the
majority of their day working while women spend 27% of their day working. This stat
means that men are still making and bringing in more money than women. Men are
gonna simply make more because they work more.

5. Title IV Society

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be
denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or
activity receiving Federal financial assistance. The author feels that man and woman, should
both have equal opportunity for everything in life. Women are just as deserving if not more
deserving than me because of everything they do for society. Like think about it, without
women, there would be no you and i, because we wouldnt have been able to be made. Women
do so much behind the scenes it's ridiculous, and theyre starting to get credit, but not
enough.

6. Gender Equality- Fox News Kate- factual

Leslie- emotional

Women like marrying successful guys because they want marry up and they want
someone who is and will be successful. The Us sensis bureau, shows women want to
marry up because of money and because they want to be able to be provided for. But
does that make a woman a gold digger? I think Its based more on circumstance.
Because in certain situations, i feel it would be ok if money was a big factor in marrying
someone or not. But also the thought is that if you do that then youre just marrying
the money.

7. True gender equality is when both women and men

have a voice

8. Commercial Clips Cultural, economic, social

Women, with training, can throw as just as well as guys. Girls can be engineers like
boys.
Commerical shows girls can do what guys do. Self confidence plummets for girls when
they hit puberty, so for someone to tell them they throw like a girl is a little
insensitive. Obviously girls naturally arent gonna be stronger or bigger or faster than
boys, but with training, they definietly can be.
