20 Adjectives

Adjective - is a word or phrase naming an attribute, added to or grammatically


related to a noun to modify or describe it.

1. The puppy has a warm belly.


2. He did not want to send the

the slimy fish.

been to.
5. She was nervous walking down into
the dark basement.

20 Adverbs
Adverb - is a word or phrase that modifies or qualifies an adjective, verb, or other adverb
or a word group, expressing a relation of place, time, circumstance, manner, cause,
degree, etc.

She completely rejected his proposal.


I heartily endorsed the new restaurant.
I so want that new toy.
He completely understands me.
I absolutely refuse to stay here any longer.
I really dont care.
He literally wrecked his car.
I am certain of the facts, for sure.
You simply dont understand.
I so want to go to the concert.
I sort of felt betrayed by you.
You can improve on this to some extent.
She kind of likes the movie.
The boss almost quit his job after that.

20 Verbs
Verb- is a word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence, and forming the
main part of the predicate of a sentence, such as hear, become, happen.

Preposition - is a word governing, and usually preceding, a noun or pronoun and
expressing a relation to another word or element in the clause, as in the
