recycle your bulletin

8:15am & 9:45am worshipers can help the church be better
stewards of our resources and environment. If you do not
want to keep this extremely handy bulletin, just hand it to
one of our ushers as you leave. The bulletins are reused
for the 11:00am worship service, and recycled on Monday

notes
traditional
You have undoubtedly noticed that the large cross
remains on the chancel these past weeks with a white
cloth draped over it, as was the case at the Easter
Sunday services in Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing
Arts. As was mentioned a few weeks ago, the early
church celebrated the Resurrection for fifty days, all the
way to Pentecost. Those of the early church would refer
to today as the Fifth Sunday of Easter. The white cloth on
the cross reminds us of the empty grave clothes Mary
and the disciples found in the tomb. He has risen and
is sitting at the right hand of the Father in His physical,
glorified body as you read this. Anything as momentous,
miraculous, universe-changing, history of the world-
changing, affecting all of eternity-changing, should not
be celebrated for one hour on a Sunday! We have come
to worship our great God today through the power of the
Holy Spirit as our Savior interceding on our behalf before
the Father. He has risen! Nothing is the same, including
this morning! - Dr. Dan Sharp
