Last week, Ethan and a group of pastors hiked to the villages of Trinchera
and Guayabal preaching the gospel and teaching sound doctrine. One year
ago, men from the village of Trinchera had sent word that they wanted
someone to come teach them the Bible. The trail there is so precarious that the
group had to wait until the dry season for safety. The group consisted of
Ethan, Alex (a Costa Rican missionary), Alcibiades (a Bugl pastor), and
Aquilino and Evaristo (both Ngbe pastors). On the 9 day trip they preached 7 Caribbean
church services, taught 12 Bible classes, and hiked over 25 miles. It was a 10
hour hike just from Guayabal to Trinchera! We had asked people to be praying
Trinchera
for God to prepare hearts and He answered. 25 people trusted Christ as Guayabal
Savior! Ethan also surveyed potential landing sites for the airplane. How
marvelous to see God move in such a mighty way! Las Lajas (home)

We finally received our two year missionary visas.

Next stop- permanent residency!

This is an exciting year for the church we are involved with here in
Panama. New Hope Baptist Church is planting new indigenous churches,
people are being baptized and discipled, and believers are maturing. In the
month of April, the church collected an offering to buy a man a horse so
that he could ride to villages to evangelize instead of walking. We even have
started supporting our first missionary!
We recently held a VBS in Rio Fonseca that consisted of two days of
teaching both children and adults. Ethan took Noah with him and they
camped overnight. It was a special time where 6 people accepted Christ
and 17 were baptized!
We are thrilled to be a part of an amazing team of people from all over
the world that are working for the Lord in Panama. We praise God that we
can help Ngbe brethren reach their people for Christ!
