Reflection Essay

Composition 2 has been a great class, and I feel that it is one of the only classes that

teaches skills that will actually be useful in the future. The assignments in this course have

helped teach me how to formulate a strong argument, and how to respond to an argument

through many assignments, such as the argument essay, and some of the short answer responses.

This class has also helped me learn how to make a proposal which I believe will be useful in the

future because it applies to every problem in life that needs a solution.

One of the biggest skills I have gained from this class is the ability to formulate a good

argument; In addition, I have learned that is important to review your essay multiple times, and

to have others review your essay as many times as possible in order to have a good paper. The

skill that I feel I have strengthened the most is the ability to think critically, and be able to come

up with reasonable points, whether it be for an argument or a proposal.

I still need to work on these skills, but this course has helped greatly improve it, and has

made it easier for me to be able to come up with reasonable arguments and proposals. I can keep

strengthening these skills by using them in my everyday life, and trying to think critically about

every problem that I happen to have.

The essay that was the easiest for me to write was definitely the textual rhetorical

analysis. The hardest essay to write was for sure the casual argument. The textual rhetorical

analysis essay was easy for me because I had already written an essay that was similar to that

before, and I had a good idea of what I needed to do for the paper. The casual argument paper

was the hardest for me because I was not that sure about what I was supposed to do, and I

actually ended up turning the paper in late because I was lost on what I was doing. The essay that

taught me the most would have to be the casual argument, because I had to learn more about

forming an argument, and it took some time for me to figure it out, so I had to go back through

the lectures, and look at the rubric a lot because I was not sure what I was supposed to be

writing.

The skills that I have develop in this class can help me in the real world by helping me to

form a strong argument if I ever need, which I am sure I will need to do at some point. It will

also be useful to be good at coming up with proposals, because there will be a problem that

needs to be solved at some point, and that will help me to be able to come up with a formal

solution to the problem.

In conclusion, this class has helped to develop skills that will help after I am done with

this class, and that I will probably use throughout the rest of my life. This class also helped to

strengthen skills that I already had through the writing of many papers.
