1. Draw the network for a project having four activities labelled A, B, C
and D and related as below: a) Activity A and B can be done concurrently. b) Activity A is the immediate predecessor of activity C , and so is the relation between B &D. c) Accomplishment of C and D marks the completion of the project.
2. Draw a network diagram for a project having 9 activities, with the
following inter-relationships: a) C follows D, but precedes F. b) C follows B, but precedes H. c) G follows F, but precedes I. d) E follows A, but precedes I. e) D follows A. f) H and I terminate at the same time. g) A and B start at the same time.
3. A project consists of 6 activities designated from A to F with the
following relationships a) A is the first activity to be performed. b) B and C can be done concurrently, and must follow A . c) B must precede D. d) E must succeed C, but it cannot start until B is complete. e) The last operation F is dependent on the completion of both D and E. Draw the network diagram.
4. A project has 14 activities A to M. The relationships amongst these
activities are given below. Construct the Network Diagram. a) A is the first operation. b) B and C can be performed in parallel and are immediate successor to A. c) D, E and F follow B. d) G follows E. e) H follows D, but it cannot start until E is complete. f) I and J succeed G. g) F and J precede K. h) H and I precede L. i) M succeeds L and K. j) The last operation N succeeds M and C. 5. A project consists of three operations E, L and F. The sequence of the network is given below: a) E is the first operation. b) L follows E, but precedes F. Each of the three operations can be completed in three sections. Construct a network diagram assuming that the completion of one section in an operation allows beginning of the next operation.
6. A project has 16 activities having their predecessor relationships as
follows: a) A is the first activity of the project. b) B, C and D follow A and can be done concurrently. c) E and G cannot begin until C is completed, and can be completed simultaneously. d) F is the immediate successor to activities B and E. e) H and K run in parallel, and both succeed G f) L succeeds F and H. g) I and J are immediate successor activities to activity D. h) M and N are immediate successor to I and K. However both M and N can be performed concurrently. i) Activities O and P are the last activities. Activity O is the immediate successor to N and L. Activity P is the immediate successor to M and J. Draw the network.
7. A project consists of eight activities M, N, O, P, Q, R, S and T. Draw the
network if: a) Activities M, N and Q start concurrently. b) Activities O and P are concurrent and depend on completion of both M and N. c) Activities R and S are concurrent and depend on the completion of O. d) Activity T depends upon the completion of P, Q and R. e) The Project is complete when S and T are done.
