biomolecules,includingcarbohydrates,lipids,proteins,andnucleic
acids.
(B)comparethereactantsandproductsofphotosynthesisand

Modeling:
Overthecourseoftwodays,studentswilllearnofthespecificsetof
metabolicreactionsandprocessesthatoccurwithinthemitochondriaof
acell,toproducecellularrespiration.

DayOne:
Onthefirstdayofthelesson,theteacherwillpresentaGoogle
presentationoverCellularRespiration.Thefirsttopicofdiscussionwill
beanoverviewofthepurposeofCellularRespirationandhowthat
helpsorganismsperformnecessaryeverydayfunctions.Next,the
presentationwillfocusontheprocessofGlycolysis,whichoccursinthe
cytoplasmnearthemitochondria,andischaracterizedbythebreakdown
ofglucosebyenzymesandthereleasingofenergyandpyruvicacid.
UpondiscussingGlycolysistoitsfullextent,theteacherwillthen
proceedtoPyruvateOxidation.He/shewillelaborateonthe

thisportion,theteacherwillelucidateontheimportanceofTheKrebs

Afteraskingtwotothreequestionsaboutthisprocess,theteacherwill
moveon.Now,thetopicofPyruvateOxidationwillberevisited,andthe
teacherwillaskanothertwotothreereviewquestionsrelatedtothe

complexityoftheprocess).Lastly,theinstructorwillexploreOxidative
