Course Description
An intermediate level mathematics course on the basics of algebra and trigonometry. Topics include factorization,
powers and exponents, radicals, quadratic equations, inequalities and absolute value, progressions, graphing,
introduction to limits, and basic trigonometry.

Course Objectives
Upon completing this course you will be able to:

Choose which function type best suits specific problems requirements.


Solve systems of 2-, 3- and higher-variable linear equations.
Simplify trigonometric functions by manipulating trigonometric identities.
Perform basic matrix algebra operations.
Discriminate to which conic section an equation belongs by examination of its leading coefficients.
Determine finite and infinite series.
Apply basic probability rules to problems involving uncertainty.
Define what limits are and how they are used.
