the cut out animation is used to make photographs of people and animals
to make it seems like they are talking or moving.
Call animation Animations and films up to and around 1959 were all
drawn by hand, including beauty and the beast, which pioneered in
animated film. This is called cel-animation. Cel-animation utilises layers
which accomplish this effect, this is similarly to how layers are utilized
within Photoshop. The backgrounds have high detail and shading
definition which then contrasts the simplicity of the animated character.
The animated characters which are mostly un-shaded and are blocked
coloured. The background is created by an acrylic or oil painting which is
done by using acrylic onto a clear film which is known as a cel. This will
then be placed over the background. This is what builds up and results in
early cel-animation. Shortly after the little mermaid was released, Disney
then moved onto using digital media to create animated films. A hand
drawn animation is individual frames which are photographs or drawing
which are first drawn on paper first. To be able to create the illusion of
movement, each of the drawings had to differ slightly from the one before
it. The animators drawings are traced or photocopied on to transparent
acetate sheets which are called cells, these was then filled in with paints
in assigned colours or tones on the side opposite the line drawings. The
completed character cells are photographed individual against
background by a rostrum camera, which were then put onto motion
picture film. This type of animation is something, which I am able to use
when it comes to creating a 2D animation, as I may want my animation to
be hand drawn, I think using cell animation would be a fun and creative
way to design and create an animation.
children as the character are very colourful. The adverts, which they
create and show on the TV or an advertisement on YouTube these also
appeal to the younger audience as well as adults.
