Adobe Flash Flash, which can be sometimes known as macromedia flash

and shockwave flash, these are softwares which are used to create
animations, vector graphics, games and rich internet applications; which
these are able to be viewed and played by using adobe flash player. The
most popular way to stream media, advertisements and interactive
multimedia contents within websites is to use adobe flash. Using adobe
flash, allows the user to create vector and raster graphics like animation
of text, drawings and still images as well as enabling the use of streaming
audio, video and being able to capturing movement, keyboard and
camera input. There are many different ways which animations can be
created for example they can be created by moving specific joints within
the drawn graphics, this is to create movement, there is an option to use
the pre-set command, this is by creating the animation in flash, the pre-
sets can slowly ease them into the world of being able to create an
animation. Flash player is a container file format, which is used to deliver
video over the internet using Adobe flash player version 6 and newer.
Flash video content could also be embedded with SWF files. There are two
different video file formats which are known as flash video: FLV & F4V. The
audio and video data within the FLV files are encoded within the same
manner as they are within the SWF files. The F4V file format is based on
the ISO based media file format and is starting with flash player 9 update
3. Both of these formats are supported in adobe flash player and
developed by adobe systems. Flash video is a standard web based
streaming video. Notable users of it include: YouTube, VEVO, Yahoo! Video,
Hulu and many others. Support for video in SWF file format was add in
flash player 6 and this was released in 2002 and then in 2003 flash player
7 added direct support for FLV file format. The adobe flash player is
freeware software which is for viewing multimedia, executing rich internet
applications and streaming video and audio content which is created on
the adobe flash platform. Flash player may run from a web browser as a
browser plug-in or on supported mobile devices, although there may also
be exist versions which are running directly on an operating system which
is intended for both regular users and content developers, denoted with
the projector or standalone and debugger name suffixed, respectively.
Flash player runs SWF files which may be created by the adobe flash
professional authoring tool, by adobe flex or by a number of other
macromedia and third party tools. Flash player was created by
Macromedia and it has now developed and distributed by adobe systems
after its acquisition. Flash player supports vector and raster graphic and
3D graphics, an embedded scripting language which is called action script

executed in ActionScript virtual machine and streaming of video and

audio.

Alternative available chosen styles

Flipbook A flipbook is a book, which has a series of pictures, which vary

gradually from one page to the next page, this is so when the pages are
turned rapidly, the pictures appear to animate by simulating motion or
some other change. Flip books are sometimes illustrated books for
children, although they can be geared towards adults and employ a series
of photographs other than just drawings. Flip books can be added
features in ordinary books which are often in the page corners. Software
packages and websites are also available to convert digital video filers
into custom-made flipbooks. The first flipbook was created in September
1868, the creator of the first flipbook which was called john barners
linnett under the name of kineograph moving picture. They were the
first form of animation to employ a linear sequence of images other than
just a circular. A flipbook isnt something which would be suitable for this
type of animation which I am wanting to create, as it wouldnt be an
animation which would be able to be 30 seconds as it would use a lot of
paper.

Flip books are now commonly used for entertainment for

children and was once a common prize in cereal and Cracker
Jack boxes. They continue to because in marketing today as well
as art and published photographic collections. Vintage flip books
are popular among collectors and rare ones which are from the
late 19th to 20th century have been known to made a few
thousand in sales and auctions

Animatic This animation is created by having sequence of different shots

or sketches, as for a movie or an animated television program, which is
filmed or arranged usually with a sound track and then viewed to
determine its effectiveness then before being finalized. This is also a
preliminary version of a film, which is produced by shooting successive
sections of a storyboard and then by adding in a soundtrack. This type of
animation is used for represent a rough or early ideas for an animation. I
think using this type of animation is useful if there is a lot of time to plan
and create but I am not sure, if it would suit the 2D animation, which I
Anna Guilford

need to create although in some cases it might, I think that it would be a

fun and easy way to create an animation.

Filmstrips A filmstrip is a strip of film, which is in a

bearing sequence of images, which is for projection
as still pictures. This type of animation wouldnt
work with what I am wanting to produce as I need
to produce a 2D animation and using this type of
animation would not allow me to produce what I need, although I do think
this type of animation would be interesting it wouldnt fit with what I need
to produce.

Time-lapse photography Time-lapse photography is a cinematography

technique which the frequency at which the films frame are captured and
the frame rate is much lower which will be used to play the sequence of
images back. When the sequence of images is played when completed at
a normal speed, the time appears to move a lot faster and lapsing. I think
in this case this type of animation would not work with what I need to
create, this type of animation is a slow moving image, which would not be
the speed I need it to be and it would not fit with the age group, which I
need to aim this video at.

Sequential photographs To ensure that you are able to create a

sequential photographs, you need to photograph a moving object at
multiple frames per seconds and then you should use Photoshop to piece
the image back together as a single image. Sequential photographs is an
art, which uses images deployed within sequence for graphic storytelling
or to convey information. The best and most popular types of sequential
art is comics, comic books which, these are printed in an arrangement of
art and speech balloons.

Collage- A technique of composing a work of art by pasting on a single

surface various materials not normally associated with one another, as
newspaper clippings, parts of photographs, theatre tickets, and fragments
of an envelope.

Index cards An index card is a small card which contains information

which is on the card, for example there could be a certain amount of still
images which could have been hand drawn on to the cards and this way it
could be shown as a short story.

Cut out animation cut-out animation is a technique, which is used for

producing stop-animations by using flat characters, props and
backgrounds cut from different materials like paper, card, stiff fabric or
sometimes-even photographs. Most cut-out animations are frequently
produced using computers, which have scanned images or vector graphics
which take the place of physically cut materials. The characters and props
and sometimes-even backgrounds are cut out like in a 2D form and are
repositioned to simulate animation; the cut outs can be on colour paper,
white paper with drawings on, photographs, these can all be either flat 2D
or can sometimes be 3D objects, though thisthen ventures away from cut
out animation and into stop-motion animation. Often in these animations
Anna Guilford

the cut out animation is used to make photographs of people and animals
to make it seems like they are talking or moving.

Call animation Animations and films up to and around 1959 were all
drawn by hand, including beauty and the beast, which pioneered in
animated film. This is called cel-animation. Cel-animation utilises layers
which accomplish this effect, this is similarly to how layers are utilized
within Photoshop. The backgrounds have high detail and shading
definition which then contrasts the simplicity of the animated character.
The animated characters which are mostly un-shaded and are blocked
coloured. The background is created by an acrylic or oil painting which is
done by using acrylic onto a clear film which is known as a cel. This will
then be placed over the background. This is what builds up and results in
early cel-animation. Shortly after the little mermaid was released, Disney
then moved onto using digital media to create animated films. A hand
drawn animation is individual frames which are photographs or drawing
which are first drawn on paper first. To be able to create the illusion of
movement, each of the drawings had to differ slightly from the one before
it. The animators drawings are traced or photocopied on to transparent
acetate sheets which are called cells, these was then filled in with paints
in assigned colours or tones on the side opposite the line drawings. The
completed character cells are photographed individual against
background by a rostrum camera, which were then put onto motion
picture film. This type of animation is something, which I am able to use
when it comes to creating a 2D animation, as I may want my animation to
be hand drawn, I think using cell animation would be a fun and creative
way to design and create an animation.

The film beauty and the beast was created in 1991 by

Walt Disney. This film was released in November 13th
1991, this was a world premiere release, this animated
films is on for around 84 minutes. This animated films
have won an Oscar and had also been nominated for an
Oscar, it has also won and been nominated for a golden
globe award and has won and been nominated for a
Grammy, this animated film has gone on and won and
has been nominated for serval different awards.

Research campaigns already produced one of the main campaigns which

is most popular with eating healthy and giving some good advice with the
right foods which need to be eaten is change for life this campaign is
aimed at all ages and genders and it really does give out some great
advice. This campaign has a great range of things on its online website
like it has games, interesting leaflets to look at and it gives and tells
information about certain drinks and how much sugar they contain and
certain fatty foods. This website is very colourful and stands out and the
characters which are used are also creative and will attract younger

children as the character are very colourful. The adverts, which they
create and show on the TV or an advertisement on YouTube these also
appeal to the younger audience as well as adults.
