To Governor Jerry Brown

Syrian Center for Policy Research reports that science 2011, more than 470 000 people had died as a result of
the civil war in Syria. Syrias mortality rate increased from 4.4 per thousand in 2010 to 10.9 per thousand in
2015 ( Ian Black). Those who survived and want protection, fled out of war zone, seeking the asylum in other
countries. Unfortunately, just a couple countries accepted the refugees, while other secured their borders with
brand new security systems to keep the poor people away. As for the high school student like me, this situation
clearly shows the brutality of our indifferent world. The perspective of existing in such surrounding is not very
attractive and it is the reason why America should to accept the refugees.

America cannot accept the refugees because 31 governors turned their thumbs down (Merrill Matthews) to
idea of having this people. The majority thinks that the Muslim asylum seekers are dangerous because of
terrorist acts that took place in Europe. However, president assured people that the screening process would be
the most rigorous process conceivable and made it clear that refugees are not dangerous, many still against.
Such an action ruins the humanity that is at the core of our national history. (Don Kusler).

The Syrian refugee crisis and refugee crisis during world war two is actually very similar. America did not take.
Jews because it was afraid of spies and saboteurs among the Jewish refugees (Adam Geller). These caused
many people to die during the biggest world known genocide - Holocaust. Today America has the same fear of
Syrian suicide bombers that can get into the country. Paradoxically, the bitterness of previous mistakes didnt
teach us anything.

The majority of governors are against of accepting the Syrian refugees in their states. The reason is that
America had a bad experience in a similar situation back in days. Maybe, this is the time to learn something
from previous failures.

In my opinion, to not lose the national idea, the refugees must be accepted by this country of eternal freedom
and and opportunities. Thank you for the time and I believe you will take this to your attention. Thank you one
more time.
