The knowledge I need to teach visual performing arts and physical education at an elementary school is to have knowledge in knowing

adequate exercises or physical activities at an adequate level for students. Another topic would be to able to integrate main subjects such as math,

science, history, and English in either physical activities and visual performing arts. Also that there are many activities that can be introduced to

students to have them learn different content at the same time while doing a fun activity. Besides content areas. I need to have knowledge on how

to teach other areas to students such as responsibility, discipline, customs on other cultures, and how to have greater relationships with peers.

Connections I have made with are THE 337, DAN 440, KIN 425 since all these courses have taught me about physical activities, develop

lesson plans with fun activities while integrating main subject areas to be incorporated in the classroom. In the courses mentioned we developed

lesson plans such as exercise or creative activities to teach different subject to students such as a dance lesson while integrating learning other

countries dances. In THE 337, I developed lesson plans integrating science, responsibility, and recognizing values in life. In KIN 425, we learn

different exercise activities we can incorporate in a classroom, the important skills students need to learn such as locomotor, manipulative, and

motor skills.

The artifact to demonstrate my knowledge and understanding in this subject area was a newsletter I created for KIN 425 course. This

newsletter demonstrates what I have learned in the course and what I will implement in my future classroom. Objectives I will use in my

elementary classroom and what kind of connections I want to have with parents and students. Also this artifact demonstrates objectives and

standards I will need to incorporate in my classroom and to have my students learn.

The reason I chose this artifact was because I gained knowledge on what was a good way to stay in contact with parents and letting know

what their children will learn in the classroom. This will help me as an educator have better communication with my students parents and so

students can learn the purpose of their education. This artifact demonstrates my knowledge on the objectives I need to implement in my

elementary classroom. Also demonstrates other content areas I will implement in my classroom such as healthy eating, standards I will cover in

the year, and exercises implemented.
