& Information Science in Pakistan) to MPhil students

- User Services, Administrative Services, And Technical Services, including acquisition,
cataloguing/classification and circulation, budgeting, forecasting and internal reporting, liaison between
three sister institutions i.e. National Institute of Management (NIM), Pakistan Academy for Rural
Development (PARD) and Pakistan Provincial Services Academy (PPSA), designing and
implementation of group strategies and internal procedures.
- Supervision of Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC),
- Formulation and coordination of library courses, delivering lectures on Information Management
Techniques; E-government; Library computerization techniques, strategies and implementation
processes, Public-Sector Development Project preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
during short thematic courses at PARD

Brief Biography
Mr. Arif Khan is working as Research Librarian and Course Coordinator in Pakistan Academy for Rural
Development, Pakistan. Having nine years of professional training experience in public sector training
organization, he has conducted several courses for librarians in Pakistan. He has published research work
in areas of webometrics, professional training & staff development, national libraries of South Asian
countries, special education for people with disabilities, information literacy, social network analysis,
library websites, institutional repositories, knowledge management, and other social and technological
aspects of Library & Information Science. Received his BSc in Computer Science & MSc in Library &
Information Science from University of Peshawar, and completed his Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in
Library & Information Science from University of Sargodha, Pakistan.
