Within the context of the Develop Project Management Plan process, configuration
management refers to how we will perform configuration management on the
project. Focus groups bring stakeholders together in order to learn more about their expectations and attitudes about a proposed product service or result. Sensitivity analysis helps to determine which risks have the most potential impact on the project. Having a high level of active and effective listening skill is an example of a key influencing skill. The PMBOK standard is a guide that is meant to be a foundational reference. It is not complete and not all-inclusive. EACs are typically based on the actual cost incurred for work completed, plus an estimate to complete ETC (the remaining work). What-if scenario analysis is used to review various scenarios to bring the schedule into alignment with the plan. The boxes are called nodes, and each one represents an activity.- PDM Validate Scope is primarily concerned with acceptance of the deliverables, while Control Quality is primarily concerned with correctness of the deliverables and meeting the quality requirements specified in the deliverables. Variance is a tool/technique used in the Control Scope process The goal of quality control is to determine the correctness of the deliverable. When conducting performance reviews, graphical analysis techniques are valuable in trend analysis. A process configuration is a graphic depiction of processes, with interfaces identified and used to facilitate a process. The total work at the lowest levels must roll up to the higher levels so that nothing is left out and no extra work is completed. This is sometimes called The 100% Rule. In observation and conversation, the project management team monitors progress toward project deliverables, accomplishments that are a source of pride for team members and interpersonal issues. There are six methods available for resolving conflict: withdrawing/avoiding, smoothing/accommodating, compromising, forcing, collaboration and confronting/problem solving. Questions and surveys are most appropriate with broad audiences, when quick turnaround is needed and where statistical analysis is appropriate. Non-functional requirements such as level of service, performance, safety, security, compliance, supportability, retention/purge, etc., are components that may be included in the project requirements documentation.
