assigned.Theteachersandadministrationnevergaveuponmeevenatmylowestpoint.

Information

Jodean Rosenberg was born on January 24, 1931 near Grimes. She
attended school in Granger, but never graduated from high school. She
went on to work at the canning factory in Grimes and later at Pioneer
Hybrid in Johnston. In 1951, she married Ron Rosenberg. They had two
sons, Keith and Denny. In 2001, Jodean passed away after a short battle
with cancer. Jodean loved children. She believed that children were the
wonders of the world. Jodean also always stressed the need to get a good
education to both her children and grandchildren. She led by example and
practiced what she preached.

Why do you feel that you should receive this scholarship?

I feel that I should receive this scholarship as I have made it through major
hardships. I wouldnt be a senior in high school if it wasnt for the teachers and
administration that pushed me to become a better me. I have strived to become a
better person in the past few years. I am proud that I can say I learned from my
mistakes and have changed my ways.

What are your goals in the next five years? How will you accomplish these goals?

In the next five years I would like to be earning a bachelor degree in nutrition
and dietetics. I will accomplish this by attending Dmacc to get my generals done. I
will then further my education at a university to earn my bachelor degree in
nutrition and dietetics. Later I will obtain a job in the endocrinology field; to help
diabetic kids learn about what its like being a diabetic and how to manage it.

What will you do in your life to make an impact on the world?

I will help others through learning about being a diabetic and the process of
understanding how to manage it. I will also have a different perspective than most
people as I have lived with it and can give tips and tricks other people wouldnt be
able to.
