TEKS Objectives:
- engage in oral and written exchanges to socialize, to provide and obtain information, to
express preferences and feelings, and to satisfy basic needs.[1A]
- present information and convey short messages on everyday topics to listeners and
readers.[1C]
- use resources (that may include technology) in the language and cultures being studied at
the intermediate proficiency level to gain access to information.[3A]
Lesson Objectives:
- Students will be able to learn and memorize names of Turkish Jobs and how to pronounce
them in Turkish.
- Students will be able to talk about a job with Turk who is principle in our school end of
class.
Materials:
Acilim 2 Interactive book, flash cards, projector, videos about topic, small white board,
PowerPoint, Chromebook.
Greeting In Turkish, saying the date in Turkish and inquire after students.
Review last topic about names of the Houses Parts and sentences about it.
I am going to show four flashcards to students that want to participate and talk about them.
They are going to find these names of the Houses Parts and make sentences about them.
1.
I
will use Power Point slides and I will show them 12 names of job. Then I will teach them how
write and pronounce those jobs names in Turkish Language.
2. Students will listen to names of the jobs and they will try to understand and write their
notebook. After they write them, I will pick the students and I will ask them to repeat in order
and write the board what he/she understand.
3. I will give small white board and dry erase marker. After I will show them two different
pictures of jobs. Students try to write names of the jobs on the small and show me in 45 seconds.
After pictures, I will show the students unscramble words. Students try to find jobs names and
show me in 90 seconds.
4. I will show the students some commercial which is about the jobs that including more than
one job. Students will try to write name of the videos that they see.
5. I will pick some students and they will close their eyes. I will describe some jobs. He/she is
going to estimate by helping jobs features and they try to figure out what job it is and pronounce
the name of the job in Turkish Language.
6. I will give them an assignment and I will answer the question on the board.
Modifications/Accommodations/Differentiated Instruction
During independent practice, help as needed, allow for extended time, and help with minimum
requirement. Note taking assistance, preferential seating. Provided oral and written instructions,
checking for understanding. Choice to work independently, with a partner, or with a small group,
extra time on activities that include reading or writing.

Closure
I am going to bring to class some of real jobs representatives such as math teacher, operational
manager, principal and secretary and they are going to talk about them in Turkish. I am going to
help them with pleasure. This is just practice and fun.
